Please give me your opinions my 1 Hand S&S Cataphract

First thing first please ignore my bad English… English isn’t my first language…

Anyway I kept reading and reading guide after guide on the class related to the one I want to make and I finally decided to make one and wanted everybody opinion on how my build should or shouldn’t be…

I wanted to make a tanky dps class in swordsman tree… that’s focus mainly on PVE more than PVP but I think I did take the necessary skill needed for PVP…

I never tested the game before so I have no idea what I’m doing… The build I made is base on video from here and there and reading the ToS forums…

If you got opinion or insight on my build or a better tanky dps build I should do please help.

Thank you

Currently on that build you are heavily saturated on DPS imo and you can only get your tankiness catch up if you’re gonna invest a large amount of stat points into constitution which increases max hp and hp regeneration rate. Another thing, you are gonna fall short on SP with that many actives so you’ve got to stock up on SP potions if you’re going with this build.

Aw thanks for the insight… if you don’t mind me asking what do you suggest I should change on the build to make it more tanky… having alot of dps is nice but a melee glass cannon is no good… also is SP consumption a big problem in ToS?

Some of the skill I honestly don’t know how good they are so I put 1 to see what it is… Like Synchro Thrust, Steed Charge, Impale, Pain Barrier… some kill are only for pvp…

But how many active skill do you recommend I should have and does that include buffing skills?

LoliLicker has arrived.

SP for Swordsman and continued on do have SP problems if you’re going to do skill spams. Skill spams are like using a skill and then trying to use another skill immediately right after and so on. It’s not a problem for those who try to get a lot of damage through their basic attacks like Corsair, Fencer, and also Doppelsoeldner. Since they can generally deal sustained damage in between skill cool downs.

Not going to lie, any melee build can be complimented with at least one support with you. I don’t see the reason of soloing without a support partner, other than for the reasons of liking to be isolated or not having to watch someone’s back.

There are about twenty hotkey skill bar slots that you can normally use, you’re able to raise it up higher but the keyboard gets pretty clunky and chaining so many skills you won’t even use them all.

You’re only able to have about five buffs at a time, this is raised if you have a support that has a skill called Daino. Diano increases the buffs that an ally can have at one time.

Should probably get on to talking about your build now.

Bash should have about three points in it, since you’re able to an attribute for it when possible to make it be able to knock down your target.

Concentrate and Gung Ho can be used both together at the same time. Which means that combining both should be enough for whatever bonus damage you’re looking for. Both having maxed at five is unnecessary. They should just be both at Level 3 and then grab the bonus attribute for both when possible.

Since you now have some extra points, make at least Pain Barrier be Level 2. 16 seconds of high resistance to Knock Back/Down and also Stagger is usually how much you need and anything higher is too much and using more SP than needed anyway.

You should at least have Thrust at Level 4 since it’ll be useful in between cool downs before you reach Hoplite.

You should switch the points around in Synchro Thrusting and Pierce, Level 3 Synchro Thrusting and Level 2 Pierce.
From seeing your current build, it seems you’re going to be using a shield. Synchro Thrusting is totally worth it if you’ve got a shield. If you don’t like the idea of having Synchro Thrusting sitting in your hotbar and not using it much, just make Pierce Level 5. You can get an attribute for Pierce Level 5 when possible to make it’s attacks apply bleed to your targets.

You generally don’t need Trot unless you actually really want to move around faster for whatever reason. Riding on a mount is obviously faster than being on your own feet already and you should only get Trot if you’re going to be trying to move through higher level mobs (Like ignore them) for some reason. Or if you like being sonic and moving around a fight fast. You can invest more into other abilities to deal more damage.

You can mainly ignore everything that I’ve said if you wanted though. Since I’m mostly speaking from personal preference and what I myself see as “good” since everyone has their own opinions when it comes to builds that are similar to their own.

Nice… this is something I needed to hear because I just learn so many things already… I didn’t know attribute required certain level in a skill… and yes I will do as you recommended…

Btw is there a link somewhere that show which level a skill should be for attribute?

And trot… I shouldn’t get it at all or just a few points on it and use the points for others…
I was thinking to use trot to help pve faster by luring monster together faster
