Please explain monster gems to me?

they are incredibly rare, and incredibly powerful.

something of that rarity you’d want to buy right…but you cannot buy them…

if you use them you lose them since you cannot remove them from the item you put them in and this game is designed around changing gear every few levels…

I mean this really is frustrating it’s an awesome system I like the gems but the fact that you cannot trade them or remove them from your gear is just destroying the system and making it unusable.

as for suggestions…just make them tradeable, and preferably have them start off at level 6 so you can use them a couple of times at least.

What do they do? I got one to drop a few days ago and no idea what it does xD

I made this suggestion: A functional, fair, and borderline necessary TP shop item

they add +1 to a skill for example the desert chupacabra adds +1 skill level to fire pillar.

odds of dropping are comparable to RO cards so 0.01%

Too bad the one i found doesnt tell you what skill it adds to :frowning:

Couple of clarifications here:

  1. Yeah they are rare and some collections even require them lol
  2. Yeah they are untradeable, which is stupid. IMC should do something about it in the near future.
  3. No, you wouldn’t lose them if they are already binded to an equip
  4. Yes, you would lose them if you die when its in your inventory, so make sure to store them
  5. No, they can’t be upgraded, level 1 is the max. They get destroyed if removed from the gear.
  6. As to whether they are powerful - depends on the skill. They add skill level +1, so they would tend to have a larger impact on those 5 point Circle 3 skills. But I think whether or not it is powerful is an irrelevant question anyway, they should just be less annoying period.

Can you slot multiple of the same gem?

No, maximum of one skill gem - if you slot more the effect is still only +1

They want you to grind for it since theyre are very rare.

Unfortunately though monster spawns are low… So, real grinding for these becomes a major pain in the ass. Hope this will change though. Gems are a nice idea but executed badly imho.

check it again, they seem to have fixed that on the tuesday patch.
all the monster gems i’ve seen since then now display which slots they work in, and what skill they affect.

Can’t you just slot them in a class-appropriate rare item and sell that for lots of silver?

Genuinely curious, I’ve never tried it so I don’t know if there’s some unforeseen problem in the way.

I actually found a Hanaming gem which gives +1 to Heal. I was tempted to use it to get a gem up to 5 stars immediately, but decided against it because it would be a huge waste :stuck_out_tongue:

well it’s possible to do it this way but there are a few issues with it.

the item you put it in is still restricted by that items max sell value on the market, which really does’t reflect the sell value of the item +enhancements and gems.

for example a ring glove with sicarius in it which is just as effective as the gem in any other item since it’s non combat should be worth a lot to the right person but unfortunately the max i can sell it for on the market would be 10k.

the second issue with doing it this way is that you cannot market it to the people that have +9 gear that now want to put their gem in that gear.

and finally in the case of combat skills like fire pillar which gear do you choose to put it in? no matter which you choose your are alienating a bunch of people you could be selling the gem to.

if you choose lolopanther then everyone below that cannot buy it, and if you choose anything less then they will eventually obsolete that gear in the near future when they get in range of lolopanther.

Hello IMC! Another example of nice ideas executed the worst way possible. @STAFF_Ethan @staff

Ah, I see

Was that really necessary? Just post a proper suggestion…
