Please dont let ToS be a lone game

Hey. I’m enjoying myself with the Tree of Savior. And because of the fact I play every day and see how the game is actually working, I believe I am entitled to suggest a few things so that (in my opinion) the game gets even better.

My suggestion is to own IMC Staff. Please do not forget the group system! Do not let the ToS be eventually a game based to solo. It would be very sad all the best challenges and experience of the entire game can be played alone like Granado Espada (I love this game but I never needed a party in this game because the mechanics), and I needed only once time in ToS.

I could illustrate about games with contents based on groups and working extremely well, but I think it is not necessary to illustrate my point. Give ‘jerks’ so that people can have a reason to socialize! And not only compete.

• Some benefit system to groups. (Exp, Drop, however)

• Raids really tough and innovative mechanics that might suggest balanced groups (tanks, healers, dps…)

• A lot instanced dungeons (I know there are some, but in my opinion are very few among the levels).

• I really like the concept of Centurion class. And I do not know how it will work in a game where the majority chooses to be good alone.

I know it can be fun a boss alone and play the lone wolf. But that’s not exactly what a MMORPG to do. And there is absolutely no excuse for anyone not can be in a party, since there is a “Finder” for it in the game.

Hoping for some return in the game. Thank you.

can you give an example right now that hinders you from partying up?
i mean: world bosses are not doable solo, dungeons/ raids are not feasible or possible to do solo, then there are party quests with unique rewards not available for solo players, parties get higher spawn rates around them, buffs are very strong right now and having enemies being weak or resistant to certain damage types is incentivising for having a diverse party.

what else do you want?

as a solo player i feel this game is already too much centered around party gameplay.

now would not be the time to joke about the broken party creation button I’m guessing lol

i was waiting for that one

The problem is that I am also a solo player. And all my friends as well. There are advantages to groups, but definitely not enough. For a game supposedly made to groups, I believe that something else can be done.

I’m not talking about preventing the solo is possible. But an added incentive for this to be done harder. A good example of what I say is the FFXIV, where there are mechanical really difficult and requiring a good team game.

I say this also because the games that can be played solo all the time end up distancing people and causing the community the game gets a little cold over time.

Yeah… The Mercenary Post could be available in Klaipeda too, offering quests for parties starting from level 15.

Not all people playing are sociable and there are also parties that makes you feel that it’s just better to play alone. Partying already has an incentive in terms of quest and exp and the drop rates can be altered(?) by a specific job. From a solo player’s view, partying is already envious just don’t make partying like a requirement. We all have our options.

it would be nice if they borrowed a leaf from Diablo 2’s book and multiplied the stats by the number of people in your party for story related quests. Soloing a boss is a lot more time consuming (and difficult) than running in with 5 dedicated DPS and curbstomping it in less than 20 seconds.

As this is still the beta I’m sure they’ll implement this eventually. If you look at the differences between now and CBT2 you’ll understand just how different the game is now from what it was then. This game has come a long way and we’re still going to see a lot more!

The game should stimulate grouping right from low level, it’s a good time to meet people as they are also getting into the game and would clearly show that people are not intended to just solo to super high level and ONLY THEN start grouping.

Lots of mmo’s have that problem, where people just play a single player game, that happens to have other people around.

Not to mention it would make players a lot more free to have different kinds of builds if partying is the norm rather than the expection, and that would make it a lot easier to leave certain weaknesses in builds, so that would avoid a great deal of calling for buffs / nerfs.

My 2 cents is to make the ‘nearby party’ popup act as an ‘please invite me’ button.

We already can get in a nearby party if it’s marked as public… So I don’t get the ‘please invite me’ thing.

Still, I would prefer to see real goals rather than hours of silent grind.

Having the game encourage partying from the get-go would alienate a fair chunk of people, honestly. Or rather, not so much encourage but ‘force’ partying, at least in a lot of cases. I know people are sick of the RO comparison, but I liked how I didn’t have to party in RO until endgame. I also like that I can get through basically the entire leveling experience with reasonable ease and enjoyment in DFO solo before needing to party for endgame stuff like Chrons or Anton. I like that I can play the entire game of Elsword solo through its ‘autoqueue for dungeon run and then party instantly and automatically disbands’ thing. These are all MMOs and they have social interaction but they don’t shove partying in the way you want down the throat of the players for a lot of the game (or at least endgame in the first two examples).

Basically, I don’t want to socialize until I’m at the endgame. I don’t want to party with random people who I may find annoying to deal with before endgame. I can socialize enough by sitting in town and chatting with people, and I can interact with other players by buying their services in town or their goods from the auction house.

Also, parties would not stop the call for buffs or nerfs. There’re certain design decisions in some classes that don’t make sense and partying does not waive those decisions out of existence. Stuff like SP costs and cooldowns on Archers and Wizards don’t just disappear just because you joined a party.
