Please clarify Cleave for me before I go Barbarian

I cannot confirm information that shows that Cleave either grants

1 - 50 Flat Crit Rate stat.

2 - A 50% increase to your current crit rate stat.

3 -A 50% addition increase to Critical Chance as a whole. (As in you have a 50/50 chance of critting period, before calculating crit stat.)

I am close to choosing third job advance, so please help me out before I make this decision, any barbs who can test/confirm this information for me.

It gives a flat +50.

Dat Komaeda.

Has there been any resource that shows the crit values for swordsman and what the transfer ratio is for Crit Rate > Crit Chance yet? Everything I’ve seen is very muddled and from CBT, so likely not the same.

If not, could you attest to how good of a buff it is? Do you gain noticeable crit chance?

My goal is to get the Moulinet skill to crit 100% of the time combining cleave buff with the attribute passive of Moulinet. I was hoping to get those 2 to simply do it alone, but in light of your response…

But there is a class differential, right? But no source data for what that is for swordsman class to calculate?

I wanted plenty of strength to take advantage of crit attack so I could use artificial crit rate from skills and items and attributes to hit really hard.

It sounds like Cleave won’t be strong enough for what I want, but I also cannot tell for sure if 50+ crit rate is powerful or not.

Played with a Barbarian 3 Fencer 1 in CBT; and can state the +50 crit rate might help, but it’s not what you’re buying Cleave for. Cleave deals additional damage (EDIT: 200% additional damage) against targets that are stunned, making it a great overkill skill in the situations that you crit a stunned mob with it. I played a high-dex build though, so I could pull that off more reliably.

How long does the Crit Rate buff last?

Does the duration scale with levels in cleave?
