If there 3 different types of physical attack namely stab , slash , and hit . Why is it there’s only 1 type of magical attack , magic ? I think they focus too much on the physical attack and left out the magical attack . Or maybe they should just have 2 types , physical and magical . Maybe a pure type ? What you think ?
Magic has elements though
I like complex systems
3 types of prysical attack was total surprise for me! It gives me hope that ToS won’t follow RO mistake: physical attack is the most versatile type of damage, so physycal attackers like rangers pwn everything that moves =(
magic has elements, fire, ice, lightning, earth, dark, light.
RO weapons relies on size, meaning each weapon react differently on size
in GE and ToS, the type of physical attack of a skill and weapon depends on size and armor type.
slash attack deals more damage to cloth, less damage on plate
stab attack deal more damage to leather
hit attack deals more damage to plate, less damage on leather
ghost attack deals mroe damage to ghost
equipment
swords normal attack are slash
spear&bows normal attack are stab
maces/staff/rod melee normal attack are hit
rod/staff range attack are ghost
Thaumaturge skills can help with that! Though, I’m not sure what the effects of L vs M vs S is yet D:
because … because is like when player swap types of armor then we have to also use different types of physical attack to deal more/less damage … i really like that idea … just that for magic right … we have magic armor only … i think is just reduce of any types of magic (in that case you meant element) … but maybe you guys get my idea right … that swapping different type of magic armor and when use different type of “magical attack” to deal more/less damage …
hahaha i think for player we are medium size … and if damaging a larger type monster will have reduction damage while damaging a smaller type monster will have increase damage … damaging a larger type monster is like using hand to punch an elephant and damaging smaller type monster is like using finger to kill an ant … XD XD
Here’s the element table.
http://wiki.tosbase.com/wiki/Elements
Hoptlight does three hit attack every 30 seconds to bigger enemies and mounted: Cataphract, Sorcerer riding beast and Swarzer Reiter.
Fletcher does three hits every 3 seconds to targets wearing less armor. Pretty much anti mage.
And that’s exactly what is good about ToS!
RO’s size reductions was basically just reductions, which means nothing deals more damage to anything. That’s why knife-using classes in RO was basically excluded from the most challenging and rewarding aspect of the game - MvP.
ToS’ physycal attack system looks way more promising to me. In some cases archers may deal the highest damage requiring some set of support classes, while in other cases sword users will shine requiring totally different support. At least that’s how I imagine it =)
I’m wanted to know.
If Arde Dagger with magical attack property counts in autoattacks. (http://www.tosbase.com/database/items/113001/)
Will then Black Staff physical attack property counts in spells?
edit:
Just tested it, and the answer is - no.
Archers have specific skills for each armor type… haha!
Magic attack has elemental attack types and they also have a resistance stat. It’s just not a flat amount like physical types.
I honestly wish they would reduce the bonus/penalty to 25% for physical types and 50% for magic types. The current type just promotes weapon swapping and auto-attacking an enemy for 50% bonus making up for little/no skill usage.
