Petition for on/off monster death animation/exploding into fragments

Hello everyone. This thread is a petition to add an on/off option for the monster death animation, where they explode into millions of tiny pieces/fragments. This is one of the biggest causes of FPS loss for people, other than screen shaking, player density, and monster density.

I am usually able to run the game at around 30-40 fps, including during big fights within dungeons, or in popular grinding spots such as Demon Prison District 2 or Dina Bee Farm. However… when the first monster dies, my FPS takes a drastic drop, lowering below 10 fps, and the one reason why: The monster explodes into fragments. Sometimes, they even linger on screen for like 4-5 seconds before disappearing, lowering my FPS by a lot. This is especially true in dungeons, where the fragments are numerous and bigger, and makes my game lag even more.

So, like how an option was made to get rid of the screen shaking that some players had trouble with, add an option to get rid of the monster fragments that enemies explode into on death, it would really help increase FPS in dungeons where most people have FPS issues.

(Note that this only usually occurs in dungeons, and maps with high player and monster density. I am able to play the game fine, its just these areas are problematic)

tl;dr - add an on/off option for the monster death animation

I’d say, instead of some specific effect getting an ON/OFF option… how about they implement a serious low specs option for the game in general, simplifying all effects extremely etc.

I mean I don’t have much issues, but I’d still say the effects from attacks of specific bosses (the Merge for example, that giant breakdancing bee with a scythe) cause some gameplay inhibiting freezes and fps drops. I don’t want to imagine how a friend of mine that’s playing on his laptop will get through that boss lol.

While we’re at it, does anyone know on what side the source of a freeze is whenever I weapon swap? (or am I the only one experiencing that)

You poor thing. For some reason Highlanders Cartar Stroke makes them explode into like 10-20X the number of particles for every enemy killed by it (which is crazy and most likely a bug).

I still approve of the option for people struggling to get fps.

Yeah, this right here is beyond awful. The only slowdown in the game I get is during this, and it drops to below 1 FPS for a bit, esp since my main is a highlander…

Also add in an option to turn off other players damage numbers. I was doing a dungeon yesterday where we would gather 20+ mobs and a linker would link them and there would quite literally be 100s of damage numbers flying up the screen every second. There were so many numbers on the screen that they started to bug into pixelated blobs instead of legible text.

Somehow I was maintaining 50-60 fps, but my graphics card was having a heart attack.

We also need an option to turn off other players’ damage numbers. But yeah, +1 for sure. The death animation is horribly messy as well as laggy because of how poorly optimized this game is.

An option for turn off your damage number give some help too. I’m chapalain and when I put cure on the ground and hit a mob a can flood my screen with numbers.

bump again! Thank you guys for the support

Can you ever do it IMC? For ■■■■ sake.
Link + multi hit kill = 0.1 FPS

Also, a command /effect would be perfect.
(disables all visual effects)

Settings -> Apply dead parts

Isn’t that it?

Hmm… it still drops fps with link. =[

The /effect would help in gvg.

I think there are some addons that change effects
SFX Toggle and FPS Savior.
But I’m not sure they still work with current client version.
