[Personal opinion] Pardoneer's scrolls were a mistake

I don’t want to cause any drama or any bad vibes, I’m just worried on cleric’s future.

Most people know that a pardoneer can create scrolls with skills he/she knows from circles he/she is part of.

Most people create scrolls of skills that are needed for high level dungeons or skills that extremely usefull like daino. If pardoneers create krivis3 and pala3 for those buffs only and sell them, they will effectively make that class useless. “Why play X when you can buy the scroll?”

I have a fear that in a future people will play 2 cleric classes and buy a lot of scrolls to compensate. ToS has a lot of class diversity and pardoneer is hurting cleric’s diversity.

Yes. You need players to build them. And those players won’t get the class because they have scroll. And people are going to make an alt purely for that scroll and then leave the pardoneer selling buffs.

I thought only certain skills can be made into scrolls. Also The skills used from scrolls don’t benefit from stats or attributes I think… It might have changed since I last read about it.

Things like daino from a scroll would be useful, but being able to get that from a scroll wouldn’t make your class useless. I didn’t go krivis in the last CBT for daino, I got it for zaibas and zalcai which are only good with your stats and attributes making them stronger. Daino was just a bonus.

I think his main issue is that, for example, the pardoner can potentially sell Barrier scrolls. You know, Barrier, one of the major reasons to go C3 as a paladin? The spell that it doesn’t matter if it has attributes or stats applied to it, because the basic effect is why you want it anyways?

He’s right. There are so few active Paladins on kToS right now because of Barrier scrolls. Though I expect incoming adjustments.

The thing is scrolls are medioka compared to a person playing the class lets put it this way PrinceMark is right yeah a scroll might be able to give you a addid boon but does not compare to the person playing the class.

1st of all there is no heal scroll…
2ndly if there would be it would be nice if it would work something like that but swordman would still heal 5% / tile with the current mechanic.
(also there is no healing power strengthening attribute)

It is true that attributes are not included in the scroll itself but I always want to note that as I know if you have the attribute yourself it affects the scroll.

Also the cooldowns of scrolls is separated from the skills so with a Paladin you could have even more Barriers down if you use a scroll too at the same time…

I think they should work a lot on Simony because I agree it sux now…but they shouldn’t just delete it because I rly see the potential in it.

For me the mistake is the concept that this class need proper skills from another classes to make it own skills work with very limited.

Why does everyone use that word? It’s not always considered a nerf. Sometimes it is simply just balancing. Balancing!

Nerfing refers to a decrease in something’s strength or capacity, a change that is negative no matter the size.

You nerf or buff things in hopes to have balance.

OP is right, i havent played ICBT so im not sure if it does but im hoping the scroll only gives rank 1 of the skill, atleast then Daino will still be relevant on a Krivis for even more max buffs, while i hear barrier is still great even at rank 1.

They shouldnt allow impactfull effects to simply be put on scroll for anyone’s use.

how about pardoner spell shop, does the attribute also apply if player buy pardoner skills via spell shop ?

Hmmm. Let’s see. It takes at least 80 barrier to finish earth tower. Cheapest scroll is about 20k each. 15k if you make it yourself. That’s 1.2 million gold to finish 1 run of earth tower. I’m sure there will be those few people with billions of gold to throw out but I doubt majority of the players will have that luxury.

You guys have to remember that making scrolls isn’t cheap. It cost a lot of gold to make 1 scroll. The higher the level, the more expensive the scrolls will be because you have to purchase more materials to make them.

Actually those scrolls are pretty expensive. You should use them only at a special circumstances.

So yeah, class by itself won’t become useless just because you can craft it’s scroll. But Krivis needs some buffs to skills aside from Daino, it’s so heavily outclassed by cleric2 and priest.

I actually think that’s not good either. IMC should find the perfect balance so the scrolls are actually useable but also not too op or not kills off classes… also I want to see some logic in what you can turn into a scroll.

I don’t rly know… There was some trouble before with it…and I don’t even know how it ended. I don’t know if it applies the seller’s or the buyer’s attribute… at all… But I can’t confirm the scroll one either…That’s just how I read it before.

It isn’t broken at all.

Pardoner lets the not-so-cookie cutter builds flourish by making the buff spells not so important for every Cleric out there.

Cleric right now is one of the most overpowered class in the game.

Pardoner didn’t change that at all.
