People that were not able to get into CBT2, who are you?

So long story short, like a handful of people here I stumbled across TOS 3 days too late and I wasn’t able to register in time for CBT2. I was disheartened because it is a month long test and we don’t know when will CBT3 roll around. On top of that, me being just a few days short of actually getting in really struck me hard. Growing up, I’ve always loved playing these type of older school MMORPG and the music from the videos I have seen so far just spreads nostalgia across my face.

I read these forums everyday and continue to get myself familiarized with the game as much as I can from not being able to play. I love everything about it, the steep grind, the music, the sprite characters, and so much more.

That being said, I wanted to create this space for people who are on the outside looking in. Maybe you’re like me and you were a few days late, maybe you just forgot about the game and forgot to register. Let us have some fun discussing our passion for gaming and our perceived self when we play these games, hopefully it’ll scratch our itch until CBT3 rolls around.

  1. Small introduction about yourself, where are you from, how did hear about the game?
  2. Class and role? Why that class and what role do you wish to fulfill when playing this game?
  3. Do you have friends playing, are you going to get friends to play?
  4. What are you doing to pass the time by? Any other games?
  5. What is the thing you’re looking forward to most come launch? End game? Grind? Social party? The grind?

You can be elaborate or as blunt as you want, let us participate here since we can’t in game! :joy:

I guess I’ll go first.

  1. I just turned 27 not too long ago and just moved in with my partner of 2 years in nice little apartment. I live in California, USA and I love it here. I heard about the game through some random searching of free MMORPG’s as I was getting bored with all the other games I am currently playing.
  2. I usually play healer or mage archetype. I love support in all forms, healing is just part of that support. Mage, because I’ve always loved magic and the idea behind magic, I mean who doesn’t. The role I want to fill regardless of class is to be a great support for my party, whether it is to kill things as quick as possible or making sure they’re healthy.
  3. I currently don’t have anyone I know that is in the beta, I do have friends who are interested in playing once it launches, really excited about that. My partner will be playing too.
  4. I am currently playing League of Legends to pass the time as well as some Final Fantasy XIV, but those are on the back burner as I do work full time.
  5. I am actually looking forward to the grind. I remember playing Fiesta Online way back in the days when it was ran by Outspark. The grind was real, but I kinda missed that. You know they say it’s the journey getting there that matters, not the destination. :sunglasses:

I am 22 and also live in California. I think I read about it on an image board.

I have never actually played an mmo with the whole healer tank dps archetypes. Or if I have, I have never cared enough to do a dedicated build. For me, the appeal of these games is about mixing and matching what sounds / looks cool, not looking up the ideal way to play a class. Getting too deep in the meta game feels like a chore to me.

I don’t have many friends that play games these days. I might try persuading one or two, but I probably won’t because it would be difficult to stay similar levels.

Not sure what I’ll do in the mean time.

I am looking forward to class customization and seeing what class I enjoy playing the most.
