Hi everyone! How do the stats of the penguin companion compare to the old ones? This is specially relevant for Cataphracts (me 
) since mount stat bonuses are based on companion stats.
It’s not cute enough to level it up just for its looks.
It give you flat bonus 30 physic def and 30 Magic def (it TP shop) , the comp stats i think it the same.
Pretty high maintenance though. 3 TP per sardine (pet food) restoring full HP and 600 stamina (max stamina). Companion NPC sells similar pet food at around 5k silver but only restoring 15 stamina. 600 stamina will last you for a few hours though unless you play whole day or your pet dies (less likely to happen for mounted classes unless you go TBL).
Besides what @snow_nightcity mentioned, it’s also mountable by any class. Auto-unmounts when you try to attack, use skill, or get hit (thanks @Duke.SG for the info) while mounted for non-mount classes. Doesn’t auto-remount.
Personally, I think it’s worth it if you have the TP. Daily free TP should cover the food. XD Bought it for my Cata!

U can get dismounted by taking just 1 hit when I are playing a non mountable char. My penguin died when switching channel at RM with 594 stamina bringing it down to 0. Sadded…

Oh, that’s good yet sad to know. 
Luckily I’m using this for my Cata. My Hoglan is staying with my dungeon-rushing Cannoneer but will be used on my Cata when I do TBL (since Penguin dying is goddamn expensive).
Definitely cheaper than a Windrunner in terms of TP-to-silver conversion, and you can use your favorite boots too (crappy evasion stat on WR)!
How much speed bonus do non-cataphracts get by mounting it?
U get stats just for buying it called penguin owner
Same default movespeed bonus as other pets with mounted classes I think (+4?).
It’s +4 movement. Hope that rank 8 archer mount class will work well with my class.
