Hi, i know that this classes are suposed to be “tanky”, but i really like the idea of a dps build with those shield skills, is that possible?
Can you guys give me some insights and builds ?
What stats and skills i need for this end?

I’m currently building a dps pelta by getting swordsman circle 3 with concentration and G-Ho max out and attributes max out too, that will be around +226 dmg only with those skills on, then I’ll get pelta circle 3 and focus on high guard and butterfly
Crafted weps from higher level enemies are going to be your best bet for dmg.
I would recommend focusing on Targe Smash and Montano. Shield lob and SwashBuckle are really the only useful pelt skills because they gather mobs and Rodel skills damage shames pelt skills.
Back on weps, if you have a higher level char already look on the market for a decent wep or even go craft one and upgrade it with gems/anvils to squeeze out every last point of damage. Because skills scale flat its going to be better to increase your crit rates and max dmg first, then go back around lvl 70+ for the 1% enhancements.
The only thing I could really see affecting your dmg in a big way is missing attacks but I’m not sure if 1h sword acc is dif than 2h. Just make sure your gloves and shield are ■■■■ and you should be fine.

In my opinion full str is always the way to go but a 4:1~5:1 STR:DEX build could help with some crit rate and accurancy. For skills I’d drop any pelt attack skills and just focus on getting beefy as hell for rodel.
I was thinking something more like this: grab a point in thrust and bash if you dont want to max pain barrier but to be honest you can get 2nd job in like 30min if you’re determined. Umba blow is going to be your bread n butter with swashbuckling til 3rd. Then you get shield lob to pull an additional mob at the cost of losing the def on your shield (but tbh if you’re going dmg you should be 2-3 shotting most mobs within your level) and high-guard to save you if you bite off more than you can chew. Drop that extra 5 points into Umbra Smash early for that extra bit of damage, and here its all about determination.
If you can’t find a party you’re going to take a while to get to 4th job no matter how you build this class but when you do hit 4th job, cash in those exp coupons and pump Montano and Targe Smash. They both have 20sec+ cooldowns so you’re going to want to rotate those between Umbra Smash on small mobs or auto attack on single targets. From there its all down hill, you’ve succeeded in making your “semi-tank mob-devouring solo-Shieldbearer”, pat yourself on the back.
