Peltasta into Barb advice?

I’ve been on iCBT 2 for a fair amount of time and I’ve been on my Peltasta > Hoplite mostly. However, I don’t quite like the feel of the class for it’s long cooldowns and being so auto attack reliant.

I’m now looking into building a Barb into fencer (or dragoon maybe if it’s viable?) but I’d prefer Peltasta over SM2 or Highlander simply for the swashbuckle skill. Being able to aggro more than 5 per time and the utility makes life so much easier. I would imagine it would also be useful for dungeons later at higher levels.

I’m curious to know how other people generally build a Peltasta into C3 barb. How do people allocate stats, skills, attributes and such. Do people go STR instead because they can’t utilize the extra crit dmg from the Highlander’s 2H attribute? What classes do people usually pick at r6 and above? What armor and weapons do you usually take for this class route?

If you use 2h sword you are essentially wasting at least 5 skill point on peltasta circle since both umbo blow and rim blow require a shield. That means your best bet is to max guardian and swashbuckling.

Guardian, while lowering your attack, increase your evasion by 18% through attributes, that means you can afford to go with a bit less DEX and add more STR to offset the penalty.

Overall I don’t think you need to go any different than sword c2 or highlander --> barb, since highlander attribute only increase a bit of your crit damage if you go full DEX

You can actually go with fencer or corsair on R6 since they don’t use 2h sword and don’t lose too much even if you don’t go with highlander c1 (but that’s long way down the road)
