Pelta Doppel? What to drop?

I want to mix pelta1 in my build for doppel, im tracking hl3 barb1 doppel3 one, is best drop hl or barb for pelta? Which one is less needed for dps rotation?

you can also do peltasta barb 3 doppel, i wouldn’t neglect barbarian c1 at least for a doppel build.
you can also do highlander c2 barb c1 peltasta doppel but honestly you better off doing peltasta barb 3 doppel, frenzy+DoV stack really well.

Realy like your tip, any skill alocation tip for pelta barb ?

my personal favourite barb 3 stat allocation is lvl 10 warcry lvl 10 frenzy lvl 10 seism lvl 5 helm chopper lvl 5 cleave and lvl 5 pouncing.
i like it because frenzy and warcry scale great into late game with doppel’s DoV unlike other skills, helm chopper lvl 5 for CC and nice damage and cleave lvl5 for the slash, leave them at lvl 5 since you won’t use them for damage at higher lvls, but only for utility.
seism is an awesome skill which is why i like it at lvl 10, awesome aoe and damage and the frenzy max stacks which is about 400 physical attack will scale great with a lvl 15 DoV
for peltasta get a lvl 5 swash, lvl 5 umbo blow lvl 1 guardian lvl 4 rim blow.

I would ditch lvl 10 Frenzy for lvl 15 Cleave.

Cleave gets +150% bonus damage against stunned targets and another +50% slash damage from Cleave debuff itself.

I’ve seen 20k damage crits with Cleave in Maven.

I don’t like Frenzy that much because normal attacking feels more like a waste of time at higher levels. You do get an awesome extra phys atk from it (esp coupled with Deeds of Valor) but the preparation and time you waste getting 10 stacks of Frenzy is a huge turn off for me.

Cleave also has 3 overheats and only 16 seconds cooldown…

Helm Chopper could be left only at lvl 1 for the Stun too.

Matter of personal opinion, though.

In a party, Frenzy can be really valuable:

Adding Priest and Chronomancer buffs your auto-attacks can become a real part of your dps cycle. With Quicken and DoV, Frenzy builds up pretty fast.

But as you stated, you can also hope to put 20K with an “utility” skill.

I would say all in one, Frenzy in party play and Cyclone if you consider Solo play a large part of your play time.

wrong, frenzy is bullshit
your stack will always be halved every time other mob/trap accidentally hitted by your attack
or if your barb2, your stack will be reset
but warcry will not be reset or halved

doppel skills can multi hit for 20k, i’d rather then be stronger. probably a matter of preference.

IMO too, it’s better to actually get more HelmChopper specially if you don’t have HL’s Cartar stroke, for some valuable source strike damage.
Dopp is already Slash game class.

If you’re aiming for R8 i suggest going this route:

SW > pelt > Barb > HL2 > Dopp

you have to remember that HL has attribute bonus 50% C.atk when using 2HS even though minimal, that’s still a given bonus. also, HL2 Offers Three (3) additional Slash skills that will be paired with Barb 1 Cleave debuff.

I have HL1 Barb3 Doppel, and in my point of view, HL2 will outdamage barb3. reason is that crosscut + skyliner paired with cleave debuff is better than cleave + cleave or cleave + seizm or cleave + pouncing.

oh, and don’t get me wrong, yes warcry is good but not that great. same with frenzy.

btw, did you guys know that ASPD tends to get reduced when landing hits? not sure if this is ping based, but you easily distinguish the aspd of frenzy + dov + quicken will be drastically reduce when your hitting an enemy?
