Party and Whisper chats history disappears when changing zones and channels

Date and Time : Beginning 7th August, 11pm (+8 GMT/UTC)

Game Control Mode : Keyboard

Where it happened : Zones and Channels, happens when you change to a new location.

Bug Description : After party is created and chats made between each other, every time any of us enter a different zone or change a channel, the chat history will disappear. At one point, chat history was ‘Saved’ almost an hour ago while the new chat history went missing, however I’m not currently able to reproduce this bug.

(edited) : Note that Chat History is saved in All chat, but not in Party/Whisper chats

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Make/Join a party
  2. Chat in /p or /w
  3. Change to a different zone/channel
  4. Check the party/whisper chat log

I hate this bug… I always have to use all chat tab just to see what they say.

Here It seems I received 2 /w messages, but when I click there’s nothing to read.

BTW, It seems the down button doesn’t work. I can go up and read previous messages, but I can’t use the other button to go down, I have to use the bar. (I don’t know how to show this)

Fixt it please. This bug drives us crazy! You miss messages because of that … and you always hope that when you change location your team-mates are not posting something important.

This bug is still present in the current iCBT 2. I will also add that when you change maps/channel, the game will claim that you are not in a party when you click the party chat button. You must first chat using /p first before it will allow you to click on party chat.

if you whisper more than one person it makes hard to see who replied you back too…

Im having issues with that as well. There is no way to whisper multiple people. and the chatbox disappears when you change maps.

This is probably the third most annoying bug in the game, right behind the market eating items and the party creation problems. It makes being social within the game a chore, which is really bad when you’re trying to make parties, chat with friends that are far away, sell expensive stuff, etc.

Also, to see the list of people that have whispered you, you have to drag expand the chat window, or the list will not appear. Even then, all the chats will be empty if you’ve switched maps side the messages were received. =/

The whole chat system could really use revamping though, switching through different chats with the tab button is super annoying if you alt tab with any frequency, and it would be nice to have whisper windows that you can separate from the rest of chat so you can see party/all chat while talking to a friend or two…
