Paladin1 or Priest3?

I am currently cleric1 and priest2, in the end i will go monk2, but i was wondering if taking priest 3 was really worth taking.

Priest3 will give me +16 holy dmg on main hit and +16 dmg on second hit from sacrament and +20 dmg per hit from blessing, adding all those is not insignificant off course but would paladin1 be worth taking instead ?

If you want my opinion, I’d go for priest for one good reason: to fully maximize the priest skills.

If you’re thinking of going to become a Monk, I can say Paladin c1 has been really good for me. Smite has bigger AoE, and its short cooldown with 2 charge makes it a good filler in between Double Punch, and other stuff. Damage is quite impressive for being level 5 skill. Also, after bit of testing, Secrament doesn’t seem to be applying at all. Only blessing applies on your 2nd hit of double punch. I have yet to test other skill but since smite only works with Secrament’s Holy Property and blessing, i’d assume it’d be same for other monk skills.

Paladin also have the sp regen of an attribute on restoration and resist elements can help with magic damage

Yes paladin is well worth it, but so are several other options imo;

Paladin.
Smite is decent while leveling, but should be useless in comparison to your monk skills.
Restoration is a bit on the low side, but every bit of healing helps. Other players will love the sp regen.
Resist elements is always good, but it’s on the low side.
Turn undead is rather niche, but could be worse.
the 5 buff limit will get annoying very quickly.

Priest3:
Better scaling on blessing/sacrament. Though said amount is really low.
You get stone skin, which almost acts as a party wide immunity to physical damage for 35s.
Exorcise is pretty decent damage when it works, but only hits 1 target.
More points to put into mass heal/aspersion/revive for a better team durability.
You will start to randomly curse the existence of the 5 buff limit on a daily basis. Probably.

Dievdirby:
Cheap group teleport, cd reduction and sp reduction.
Still suffers from the usual dievdirby flaws, aka long cast time, easy interupts, longer cd’s, are stationary etc etc.
And wasn’t the crafting bug gone now?
Not sure if it counts for the buff limit, i hope not at least. Need to find a dievdirby to test that.

Krivis:
+5 buff limit cap, no more reflect shields overwriting your good buffs.
Zalciai is darn good for part spirit builds. Even at low lvl.
Zaibas and aukuras aren’t to good for this build, though improved hp regen can be nice for parties.

All are pretty decent options tbh. But i wouldn’t pick priest 3 for the added damage, that amount is far to low.

I was originally going for a full buff build, C>P>P>P>D>K but for easier leveling, i did put points in str and thought i would change my mind and go for Monk in the end, not entirely sure yet where i am going.

Here is the build i had in mind when i started the character

Not sure in which order i want to pick the last 3 classes though.

P.S. Stone skin only works on characters with shield though, does it not ?

Stone skins works for all party members, if you don’t have existing block then it simply adds block. Shields not required at all.

That’s going to be a pain the arse to level though, what are you going for role/stat wise? dps + support and str? pure support?

Dievdirby reporting in! Bug still present :frowning:

Right now i am pure support but with a good amount of str, stacked with blessing + sacrament, i dish ok damage with my normal attacks, one handed being quite fast, those double “+130 dmg” are enough to kill everything.

But i am not playing alone, i am always with one or two friends, so the leveling is not painful at all.

Stats are 90 STR, 33 SPR, 30 CON for now, but i can respec anytime so it is no problem, i plan on raising SPR more than that.

The “going into monk later” was a thought i had as alternative for my current build, but the more i think about it, the less it make sense, especially with the buff limitation, i think i will stick with my full buffer build.
