Paladin suggestions

Is it possible to build a Tank class paladin?

I wouldn’t recommend it. A big role of a tank is to take aggro away from your other party members. And currently, only Peltasta and Centurion have those skills. Unless you’re plan is to tank in a solo sense, it’s not going to work. From what I noticed, monsters aggro towards the highest dps character. So without Peltasta skill, you can’t really tank for anyone else.

Well thanks for letting me know, I have a prist lvl37 with 35CON thinking “cant wait for my paladin, its gonna be tanky and haves suupport”

http://www.tosbase.com/game/classes/, paladin type is defense

Doesn’t matter if the type is defense, if you can’t take aggro away from your party, your defense is useless. If you can’t hit hard enough to get aggro, your defense is useless. I’d call Paladin more of a support/tank since you CAN take hits but considering your regen aura and element resist, you’re more of a support than a tank. Just because you can take a beating doesn’t automatically make you a tank. This isn’t a moba.

That’s not really true, from what i have seen most monster will just stick to whoever they targeted first unless they completly stop attacking them and even then it takes a lot of hits for them to switch target, during the beta i used make huge mobs that i tanked on my cleric and had my friend AOE them and honestly everything was dead before they switched target.

I do get your point that it’s a handicap to not have a skill that can instantly force a target switch but it doesn’t seem to be a deal breaker in this game.

I dont know the aggro requirements but, I notice something. I am Peltasta, when I am gathering mobs I always got the attention of all monster. even if I dont hit my swash buckling skills. BTW I have a sapper party that always run first on the room full of mobs. he set his trap, and noticing that he has a low attention on every monster on that room.

This only works on low level mobs. What if your party can’t 1-2 hit kill everything. Or a boss for example, Based on my experience, mobs usually switch targets to whoever does the most damage. That’s just me though. So I could be wrong. But it happened to me constantly at Tennet Gardens and with the Big Red onion thing.

Played a cleric in icbt. I always held aggro and i played like a tank for my party.
