Paladin PVE, is it possible?

Hello guys

I am tempted to come back after seeing some improving in the game.

I am wondering what is the best way to play with a Paladin (support > dmg). I would like to play as paladin support in the team but at the same time I can level up alone.

Any guide?

Thanks

my suggestive build

you can go with this build you can support your team mates and deal dmg,
can be good if you go solo

stats will be 30-50 con and full dex…
this will be good until rebalance patch comes

Thank you.

Just a question, why are you taking Monk?

Probably to double the wheel if your powerful skills are on cooldown.

or just double punch mooks while waiting for skill cooldown

well paladin has few attack skills 2 skills p.atk and 1 m.atk and it compliments with monk skills which has more p.atks and has a 0cd patk skill

diev is just a good filler since it has utility statues you can use, but you can go priest if you more focus on support like reviving allies and debuffing enemies

I am wondering what are the most popular PVE Paladin build ATM. I only know I have to take Pal 1 2 3 and Inq 1 but what about the rest. I would like something more support than DPS but at the same time I could level up.

Cleric 2 priest 1 Pally 3 Plague 1 Inq or Cleric 2 Diev 1 Pally 3 Plague 1 Inq. Plague 1 with agny deals much more damage and sustain than monk 1.

What about this one?

I do not like the idea of giving up a rank class 7 to get a lower rank class.

This looks okish, but you’d want more versatibility because your Priest lacks e.g. Exorcise and Sacrament.

I’d actually take Chaplain instead of Inquisitor at Rank 8 and wait for Rank 9 to either choose Inqui or a new Class to boost your character.
Reason is that Chaplain with the new changes became really strong and useful, allowing you to deal damage and support equally good.

I’d build it like this: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/5o4jntxg3m/

A little sacrifice on the support side for more damage, but in return you also get a decent boost for yourself and your allies[Capella&Last Rites for longer support duration and more damage lines].

Stats would go ~50:50 in SPR and DEX (a little more SPR for the start, ~200 base, to boost Blessing damage)

Thanks… are you no using con?

Are you not using con?

well, you could get CON, but the problem of getting CON on your support build is that your skills mostly scale with SPR.
If you get a lot of SPR to be useful [~200 base + 100-200 bonus from equip], you won’t have that many points left for getting CON and/or DEX.

Now if we look at what Chaplain is good at, we will immediately understand that he benefits most from DEX, as it provides ASPD,Evasion and Block Penetration.
Also, we must not forget that you can get 10-15% of your SPR converted into CON with Enchanters armor enchants, and by wearing e.g. Plate or Cloth armor, you can get some more bonus CON and Block rate.

Accessories can also help you to get some CON, depending on what you have equipped you can get up to 60+ CON with semi-decent gear and over 100+ CON with decent-good gear.

The main reason why CON isn’t that important anymore is because the max HP will now be affected more by baselevel than by CON;
CON HP gain was nerfed considerably, making CON rather undesirable unless you can amplify the HP gain, e.g. on Kabbalist to up to 4 times the base value.

Another thing to consider is the Healing value; while CON helps regenerating more HP with base% healings [e.g. Heal and Mass Heal], those healing skills also have a variable healing amount that is based on your SPR and INT. If you have less CON and more SPR/INT, your healing gain from these factors is larger than when having more CON[because of the healing amount/max HP-ratio].

Otherwise it’s rather unimportant to spend points into it, as Block got nerfed and the HP regeneration bonus is rather unimportant unless you’re also a Krivis C3 with Aukuras 15 or have money to waste on lvl 10+ Aukuras Scrolls…

Anyway, just something to think about/consider.

Best would be to make use of the resetting event early summer and check for yourselves if you’d rather have Inquisitor or Chaplain or whatever, as you can reset once a day for 1-2 weeks [ no idea how long exactly, we’ll have to see what they plan for iTOS].

Hey, I played around the release of iTOS and built a Chaplain. I had always wanted to go Pally, but wasn’t sure if building it to c3 to end my build would be worthwhile when Rank 8 came. So you do think this kind of build would at least be viable enough to use ingame? I’ll definitely have to reset my character in order to build with SPR and DEX.

I think after the patch paladin should be INT or STR

Paladin without C3 won’t be viable since Barrier is one of the most useful skills ingame now. It boosts your mdef, keeps pesky monsters away and the magic circle AoE was badly nerfed so that every Barrier scroll will be more or less useless for the party as it just provides a mdef boost. The monsters can still hit you inside because the AoE without Paladin C3 Barrier attribute is too small to bring viable melee protection (not to forget the -30% damage taken from ranged attacks; I believe this also includes magic).

My Paladin/Inquisitor, damage test after patch.
