Paladin - Priest Resurrection and Stats?

So I’m planning on making a Paladin when f2p starts to provide heal support, and I just loved Paladin in CBT. However I’m stuck trying to plan out my build and I’m looking for some advice.

I’ve read through all the Paladin topics I can find and people seem pretty adamant on their builds without much variation. I want to make a SPR/CON full support build that’s largely based off the build found in the “paladin full spr build” topic. STR/Dex builds don’t really appeal to me as I like healing and dumping 200+ points in a stat for small dmg increase with no SP sustain sounds annoying to me.
Build: Cleric2>?>Pally3>Pardoner

My questions (2 of them) can be summarized as this

 1. For Rank 3 is Priest important to have for Resurrection in comparison to Krivis for Zalcai? ideally if I’m healing well I shouldn’t need to revive people but it seems important as a backup. Also the priest buffs would help leveling to rank 4 even if they do apparently fall off at high levels.
 2. How much SPR/CON is needed for a SPR paladin build. After a certain point it seems the MDef and defense reduction would become redundant as monsters can’t go below 0 def. I also don’t know how much each point of MDEF reduces incoming damage.

If someone can give me some answers to these questions that would be awesome. I’m also open to any class path ideas that could be interesting. Thanks =)

Priest1 isn’t that important. Priest2 is more useful. Most people who take Priest1 as Pally just took it for fun and don’t know what they’re doing in game (through experience partying with them) Just dump a Diev right there.
Priest1 would help leveling to rank 4 sure, but Krivis would too. Priest1 only help marginally.

But yeah personally I just don’t want to see Priest1 running around with unenhanced blessing and overriding my attribute maxed one. Cleric2/Paladin have better things to do than Resurrection. I’d prefer them to dump a statue or two rather than mediocre blessing and wasting time waiting for them to res someone mid-battle and get interrupted.

As for SPR/CON, CON is always dependent on your playstyle. Tanky or just enough to survive?

I guess for Con it’s more to survive as a dead healer can’t heal. Without good taunts or large scale AoE’s, it doesn’t seem like I’ll be able to tank or even really offtank. I’ve been playing a mage going for alchemist and I just hate having no health even with a lil bit of Con lol.

My intention was to get SPR up to where adding additional points becomes useless due to any mdef caps then dumping the rest in Con for maximum hit points with maybe a little Dex to be able to hit things (I hear it requires a LOT of dex though so most likely just full Con dump).

Haven’t really considered Diev since I thought it was primarily obtained for STR scaling with Carve. Would the statue utility vastly outshine Zalcai’s SPR scaling and Daino’s buff limit increase?

There are some game mechanics info out there in this forum, but I hate maths @_@
As a lv126 Cleric, 42 CON gave me around 7k hp or so?
I think for CON, just add them as you feel is enough, as you start playing and go into dungeon parties, maybe try to get your HP around the average of your non-tanker peers i.e. don’t be freaked out of not knowing how much point to spend in CON, just roll with it as you go

Damage wise yeah Diev is STR scaled, and the statue utility won’t outshine Krivis, just brings something different to the table. Daino’s buff limit increase usefulness will be more obvious late game when people come with tons of personal buffs though, though for Zalcai, the SPR scaling for attack is flat and SPR unlike STR/INT don’t get bonus points when you invest in them. Also… tbh I don’t see many crits proccing nowadays… I can’t remember the last time I proc a crit… At least with Zalcai it’s easier to get a crit on them, but again unfortunately a lot of pugs run around escaping from mobs and bosses… So half of your Zalcai ends up useless.

Though if you know what you’re doing, any of the choices, Priest, Krivis, Diev are fine. I’ve seen a lot of r4-r5s know what they’re doing with each of those. Keep imagining your playstyle.

Hmm ok, well this will give me some things to research and think on. It does seem it’d be harder to use Zalcai since people in dungeons run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Best solution I can think of is to place Zalcai around heal tiles since people flock to those lol.

Thanks very much for your advice =)
heal tiles since people flock to those lol.
Sorry but, reality is that a number of people expect to be healed on the spot or while running than actually stepping on the heal tiles :frowning:

My ‘advices’ are sometimes rants from in game :stuck_out_tongue:

Having Ress is actually really helpful in ET and occasionally random normal dungs also bless5 + 70+ attribute is pretty damn handy in lvling as it is in dungs as well maybe not the most optimal thing but its certainly useful

Yeah but it’s opportunity cost. I mean you can take like 1 circle of each to get the most variety - and then you’ll be mediocre in performance.
Also most people who take Priest1 in reality don’t increase the attribute. They don’t have the time and money to spare for Blessing because they’re busy getting other attributes.
It would be nice if you can show me enough r5 1-circle priests with attribute maxed. I’ve only seen it maxed in Priest3s, not even Priest2s.

Again I won’t talk about ideal cases, I’m talking about reality.

Some clarification on Zalciai: the debuff on enemies will increase your crit chance. The buff on allies will increase their crit damage. So honestly, it’s more important to drop it on mobs than on allies. Swordsmen and monks (and you) will run over it while you’re killing things.

As someone mentioned earlier priest 1 is not only redundant, but actually obnoxious if you have another priest in your party, because you’ll overwrite their buffs.

And Diev statues aren’t really worth taking if you’re going SPR compared to kriv. Zaibas ~= Carve without damage stats, and otherwise their utility is pretty similar.
