Paladin main weapon type?

Hello, i am looking forward to play this game when it goes f2p, i am trying to decide what class to play, there are a lot so i am a bit confused, lately i’ve been researching about the C2>Diev1>Paladin3>?(maybe Plague doctor or diev2) and it seems like a build i could like.

But there is a small issue that bothers me…do paladins use only maces? because i don’t like the “stance” of the mace at all, i was wondering if i could use a sword or something else especially late game/end game without crippling my character.

You can use one handed swords and maces, as well as a dagger or shield in your second hand. There are rods as well but I never used those in my STR build.

You can use 1H swords, maces and staves (it’ll usually say so in the description) as a paladin. You’re not restricted to only maces.

For your build, you’d want a sword main hand probably so you have all 3 damage types covered (slash, strike and pierce). Though I’d still prioritise the actual bonuses each weapon gives you as opposed to strictly the damage

thanks a lot, that makes me quite happy :smiley: just so i don’t create too many topic could i ask you if it’s worth to go diev2 at rank 7 (for owl statue+carve lv 10) or it’s best to just pick a r7 class and forget about diev?

Even tho Diev is a really strong class imo, it’s not worth it using your rank 7 for Diev c2. You’d do much better off investing on PD/Kabba imo.

alright, that confirm my doubts :slight_smile: i guess i’ll just wait till i actually play and hit paladin3 to decide what to do. Thanks you all for your fast and precise answers ^^
