Paladin C1 or C3 worth getting?

They are indeed shiittt, nothing a pally do cany be done better by other circle. Regen is shhhiiittt and barely noticable, conviction is good in party, nothing else, smite sucxx, barrier is useless since the cd is long and even if its usefull in ET you still need to buy scrolls since you need more than one barrier at any1 time. The resist aura is very nice and the debuff it applies is very usefull, but thats it. Save yourself the embarassement and the time lost and dont go pally. 227 pally here, rerolled a long time ago !

@Luven

or IMC makes a Paladin C4…and call it Crusader heh…

Smiterer - every auto-attack becomes smite that decreases enemy elemental resistance

Resto-Resist Elements - Aura not a buff thus will not interfere with other buffs

Greater Conversion - instant conversion no need to whack enemies.

Greater Barrier - which touching damage will scale with Turn Undead level and will inflict Turn Undead instakill to any non-elite Demon and Mutant that touch it.

I believe the new resist elements buff to be a lot more useful than what most people consider.

I thought a lvl 15 resist elements with divine might would only give a 40% reduction in elemental (magic only?) damage, but it’s not that simple.

I was partying with a swordman, and the mobs that were hitting him were dealing 1k damage without resist elements. When I buffed with resist elements, the damage went down to only 300. I asked what his def was and he said (around) 500.

I believe the % reduction from resist elements gets applied before the flat def reduction.

Mob damage: 1500
Player defense: 500

Without resist elem: 1500 - 500 = 1000 damage

With resist elem lvl 16: (1500 * 0.6) - 500 = 400 damage
Now, resist elements also adds some flat elemental defense so I believe that’s what got it down to ~300 damage.

So in theory you were expecting a 40% damage reduction, but you got around 70% instead because of the player’s defense (from 1000 dmg to 300 dmg).

Not just that, but the swordman was able to block those 300 damage hits as well, so they were in fact, physical damage. I thought Resist Elements would only work for magic but it seems to work for most mobs physical attacks as well (because I believe they have an element on top of being physical?).

Of course the more damage the mob hits, the less and less efficient it is (due to your defense not scaling as good as mob damage). But you can expect a nearly ~50% damage decrease from almost every mob attack, with a 20% miss rate on top of that. That’s a pretty big deal (at least to me), and it makes resist elements one of the best defensive buffs in the game along with stone skin in a SPR build.

All that being said, I believe paladin C3 is now very worth it for resist elements alone. I mean, people used to make priest c3 SPR builds just for stone skin alone (before the blessing formula change), so why not paladin C3 for a very good defensive buff as well?

well, you can always buy the paladin master costume from tp shop xD.

i did =\

it is the paladin costume, only purple instead of white
