Paladin Build Help

With Open Beta just around the corner, I’ve been playing around with the skill simulator to get a better idea of what kind of classes I will have to choose in order to optimize my paladin. I’ve done a considerable amount of research, but I haven’t been able to find specific answers to some of my questions. Therefore, I’d like to ask them all here and form a small compendium of answers to these questions:

  • Is Daino necessary for a Priest 3 Paladin?

  • Between Aspersion, Blessing, and Sacrament, which should I max?

  • Is Stone Skin necessary as a paladin?

  • Is Priest 3 necessary to be a successful support paladin?

  • Should I run a STR/CON/SPR build for Stone Skin, or simply focus on STR/CON?

The build in question

Note: If Daino does end up being necessary, I’m willing to make a Pardoner mule for the scroll.
Note (II): I have yet to play the game, so this is all hypothetical. If anyone could better explain how well this build would execute in-game, I would love to hear it.
Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

Side-note: This is off-topic, but I would like to just point out that there is a wiki website for this game called TOSBase. As we progress in this game, it would be in the best interest of everyone playing (and planning to play) to support the website by contributing some nugget of knowledge. Having a library of knowledge for the entire player-base is definitely worth the little work it requires.

I played on the last CBT as a cleric, but didnt hit max level. Someone else may have more experience, but ill share what i think.

For me, daino was just situational and not extremely important. I also hear they raised the buff cap without daino, so its even less important.

Blessing you can stop at 3 and buy the attributes. Sacrament i would max. Aspersion Id just put one point, unless maybe if you want to be a chaplain.

Stone skin scales pretty well with SPR, but i feel it might get nerfed. I would add some SPR though. It was annoying for me to run out of sp during longer battles and adding spr helped quite a bit.

Here is a build that just goes to priest3 that i think is good since you are looking to build towards STR . There are 9 extra points in the priest tree that you can put wherever.

This is just my experience with a cleric. Others may know better. I actually going to make a paladin, but my build is secret .

Thanks for the reply!

Would you (or anyone else) happen to know what the buff cap is right now?

Between Sacrament and Blessing, I read that Blessing has more potential damage since it increases the strength of all of your attacks, including Sacrament’s. Taking that into consideration, would you still suggest maxing Sacrament over Blessing?

I’m still hesitant about Aspersion. It seems like a strong buff to augment tanks, so would having just one point really be enough?

Final question: What was the reasoning behind putting five points into Revive? I considered it and thought having two points (reviving members with 10% of their max hp) gave me enough wiggle room to instantly heal them once they revived. Also, having two points in Resurrection unlocks the attribute for Revive.

Thanks again for your feedback!

I’m not sure on the buff cap.

That’s why I left 9 points to do with whatever you wish. The attributes for blessing adds +100 damage and +30 hits by themselves and it doesn’t seem worth it to spend the points on maxing it imo. Sacrament adds duration of the skill and i dont like recasting things all the time.

1 point in aspersion gives +20% to defence. Adding 9 more brings it to 38%. Doesn’t seem worth the points considering you have stone skin to reduce physical damage and defence, while important, isn’t an extremely important stat imo.

I put 5 points in revive because 2 points gives only 2 seconds immunity. 2 more doubles that number and the heal. The last one increases it by 25%. After that the bonus per skill point starts falling of and doesn’t seem as worth it. You could stop at 4 though.

What about something like this?

Late reply to this thread, but I decided on this build.
After playing the game some I realized that Blessings short duration invalidates getting it to a really high rank. At level 5 with its attributes, you’ll have it for 80 attacks. That would mean that in order to run out of Blessing stacks, you would have to attack 1.78 times a second, which isn’t unrealistic at all in this game. However, it should still be fine since Blessing should be up often enough.
Sacrament at level one seems fine, since it covers the cooldown and its main purpose is to add another attack that benefits from Blessing.

My only concern is whether I should go Priest3 or stop myself at Priest1 and switch over to Cleric2 for the extra heal tiles…
