By the way, do you know if it’s worth to pick lv15 restoration or just let it lv1 like before? I don’t know if they buffed it or if hp recovery stat is stronger now.

Dunno but if you have spare points to spare, either get restoration or max turn undead.

What choice do you have if you max all the other decent skills there?

Restoration didn’t get any change. With the new HP levels and recovery values, you might say that Restoration is relatively weaker than before.

The HP scaling from CON and level are higher now, so max HP is higher in general. The amount of HP recovery from CON also scaled to boot. However, Restoration gives an unscaled HP recovery boost.

To illustrate: if my base HP recovery was 400 pre-patch and I had 200 bonus recovery from Restoration, that’s a 50% boost; now, if my base HP recovery is 800, I still only get 200 bonus recovery from restoration, that’s only a 25% boost.

One more thing: like all skills, Restoration now costs more SP. At least the SP bonus attribute from Restoration doesn’t add to the cooldown anymore (it adds to SP cost), so you can keep Restoration persistent.

I only find paladin as “support” now… no chance to spam anything to do dmg, i would either go:

C2, P2, Pal3, Inqui <- has better heal, supp, and some dmg still.
C1, P2, Pal3, Mnk, Inqui <- at least has monk skills to fill without mana drains.
C1, P2, Pal3, Ora, Inqui <- Love zoo, farming maps like mad (specially HG with 500k-1M hp mobs turned easy)

what are you talking about? Testing on Kepa. 204 ATK (without weapon), and Smite15 deal 1011 (496% from ATK)

I’m talking about how the damage gets calculated. For instance, here’s a Smite from one of my characters:

That’s +620ATK, a fixed bonus. Before the patch, the Smite ATK bonus was around 1500. It’s fine that they cut it down, but most attack skills changed to giving percentage boosts, instead of fixed ATK boosts. For instance, Conviction on the same paladin:

UI bug. Smite also calculated in %, like Conviction and God Smash

Thanks, poboo1. I stand corrected. You are right - I just murdered a few popolions to test, and the values do seem to be percentage multipliers. In its current incarnation, then, the values seem to be on an equivalent scale to pre-patch numbers.

Yup, only change i find is the abuse of SP to use… which is making me cry on my pala… at least i can make him zoo oracle and still be able to farm stuff, cuz as i find it for melee dmg in my tests, not worth :frowning:
I will test out C1 P2 Pal3 Mnk1 Inqui later to see if it deals better with monk dmg to add sustain.

np. Your 620 = 496 (Smite15) * (1 + ([Smite: Enhance Level] × 0.005)) = 496 * 1.25 = 620%

Mass heal then revive and probably a decent level of blessing. And resurrection. Very important

I’m a paladin c3 - priest c1 myself and I value resurrection a lot.

Diev goes for CD reduction and a bit SP saving… dmg from carve is not that high either to provide a good source of dmg to avoid SP starving from Smite SP cost now.

Priest provides nice support plus adding bless dmg, that is why.

It would’ve been nice if Restoration is a toggle aura that has [flat+scaling] restoration for hp and sp. Then 3 attributes, one for its hidden effect, chance for heal to recover sp, and reducing the time for sp ticks.

I doubt they would turn the skill into something giving that much of a well thought combination xD

Is anyone running Paladin for a more supportive role? Any success in ET and similar maps?

Barrier is giving some huge mdef bonus now, since it’s scaling with player mdef. I can double my mdef while inside the barrier, even without spr.

So then what is the best why to play with a PVE Support palading now?

C1 C2 XXX PAL 1 PAL 2 PAL 3 XXX INQ ?? What classes are you using to feel it?

Also what stats are you spending your time?

If it has to be like that and only pick a R3 and R7 idd go Diev at R3 (utility and one dmg skills as pierce) and as per R7 oracle to give magic shield, to forecast and prevent damages by avoid or nullify, also be able to change mobs from pala convert after, nice status ailment prevention, some sp/sta increase, play slotmachines xD resetting and so…

The most common one is Priest2 which is what I’m playing right now, but I was still thinking of speccing in either PD for utility and synergy, Kabba for infinite SP and HP or Oracle for zoo build
