Hi guys, I’ve been very interested in dragoons lately and I think I will be preparing to build one as OBT arrives.
I’ve been wondering if going hop2/cat2/dragoon would be more favourable over going hop1/cat3/dragoon because of the extra levels in finestra and stabbing or is it better if I were to go c3 cat for Rush? I would also like to ask which skills for the dragoon works with mounting and which do not.
All [Dragoon] skills work while mounted now. ( There was a short while where some wouldn’t, but it was fixed. )
Cata skills need points, so even if not just for Rush, you’d really want to go c3. Doom Spike 5->10 and Earth Wave 10->15 is a big difference. ( Earth Wave gets more hits the more points you put into it ).
As an aside, this is something I really don’t like about Cataphract. Elementalist has this same problem. You never want to take c1 or c2, you need to go c3 or the build really suffers.
I see! That’s really good news then, I was worried I am going to be mounting and dismounting just to use some skills.
Oooh, I haven’t tried Cata myself so I did not know of this. I guess there’s no other way around it but to leave Hop at c1 then hahah, but it doesn’t bother too much now since the build won’t be so reliant on hoplite (I assume) but stabbing and finestra would be a much appreciated addition to cata’s skill set.
Do cata’s usually go full dex? If they do, then I needn’t worry so much about finestra lv5.
Common builds : full DEX, DEX > STR, DEX > STR > CON.
