This game I feel is more of a long-term game. You don’t power through it to get to the max level as soon as possible. This game takes time to develop and the players need to be aware that leveling takes a while in this game. This game if I were to compare it would be Maplestory Pre Big Bang, more socialization and steady pace than leveling as fast as possible and time crunching it. All that said they should make the Closed Beta Tests have higher rates and when the time comes for open beta they should allow the players time to develop their characters.
I agree with your sentiments. It’s a nice change of pace for sure.
Speaking of socialization, I liked to carry around wood for campfires because whenever I would place one down I would eventually find people using it too. Normally after chatting for a few seconds it became an easy way to find people to join your party.
Fun times.
This game is definitely going to thrive through it’s social aspect which MMO’s have been lacking in lately.
I don’t think I’ve played a game as focused on social aspect since Maplestory re-big bang even post big bang at the start they had a huge emphases on party playing. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a social game again.
I’ve been playing MMO’s for awhile now and I find that a lot of MMO’s think that “END GAME” is the only way to make games now a days makes you wonder “Why even make leveling in the first place? Why not cut out the middle man and just start everyone at max level at this so called “end game” item treadmill?” so seeing a game focusing on progression and exploration and even making side quest optional and hidden really puts a smile to my face.
Only real problem I have with the game as of ICBT1 is that bosses are the weak point of the game they really are lacking in the AI department and traps need an improvement in usefulness for the boss with a longer cooldown to make you feel like you shouldn’t be sitting in them mindlessly whacking away at the boss.
They could made this so everyone gets the feel of how things work as you level up and later start to developed more challenging fights
