Opinion on my archer build?

Hello, before the cbt begins, i want your thought about my personal build :C. Maybe i’m unsure about how to put skill points since i’m not an expert in skill trees IG.

I decided to leave out kneeling shot because it seems to me useless at high level as there will be a lot of mobs also you can’t move. My build is centered around Sapper for defensive traps and then going fletcher to have some more arrow skills. (i feel like the last skill of Sapper which is spike shooter is not really needed and Cross fire Aoe seems really good).

Finally, going falconer (i could have gone schwarzreiter tho) to be able to put traps and use my falcon support!

I know it is a very special build, i don’t even have detonate traps or conceal? XD

The build is pretty good. I see the conceal useless, but detonate traps could benefit you, but the other skills you got are better than it. The kneeling shot I’m unsure about because I haven’t used it in action. Depending on that and the separation you can create with your traps, it could be deadly. You should test this build in icbt.

Thank you for your opinion! I’m going to try this build in CBT and maybe put one point in kneeling shot just to see how it goes?

What does detonate traps really do? Does it help detonate your traps faster?

You can pretty much blow up magic circles. Like, a enemy magic circle.

oh, i don’t find it that useful then, with the other skills i have xD. the question now is whether i take kneeling shot or not

Well, you could try it out. At least bump it up to around 3 and see what it has to offer

yush, thank you for the advices! xD
I just skip 3 points on multi shot and put them on kneeling shot!

Also i heard that if i went schwareitzer with sapper, it could be tiring to get down from the pet to set traps, is that right?

From what I’ve heard Schwarzer Reiter doesn’t fit well with Fletcher and Sapper, because you can’t use their skills unless you dismount, change weapons, change weapons again and mount again. But your build looks pretty balanced now, I think it’s pretty good.

Ever since they added so many stance requirements on the Archer skill tree, I’ve been thinking of scrapping one of my SR builds. If you go SR route, you won’t be able to use most of your Rank 1 and Rank 2 skills. And then you won’t be able to use Scout skills either at Rank 4. Your only choices are to go Hunter or Sapper at Rank 3 continue with that or choose Wugushi next rank. And then continue with whatever you choose at Rank 4 or choose Rogue before going SR. There’s not much diversity. I hope they remove the stance requirements though.

TL;DR I don’t recommend SR cause you won’t have much skills to use.

Thank you guys for the advice! I will go Falconer then :stuck_out_tongue:

Also instead of circling archer once, would it be better to change to ranger to have steady aim buff as well?

Something like this: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/ugx81eu87x/

You could do that. But I’m not sure if Steady Aim buffs Sapper and Falconer skills. So you should test that out in the CBT.

Alright, thank you all guys! Now, I have my definitive build to test out during this CBT!

Also too bad that broom trap need 3 special woods that only drop from rare boss to be able to use that skill
But it is so OP!

I tried modifying your build. See if you might like this better.

I copied your Archer, Sapper and Falconer skill allocation but changed your Rank 2 to Quarrel Shooter to give you EVEN MORE TRAPS with Scatter Caltrop, some defensive capabilities with Deploy Pavise, and CC skills with Stone Shot for stuns. It’ll also remove Take Aim since it probably won’t work with Sapper and Falconer skills. Made Rank 5 into Rogue since Fletcher skills only work with 2H bows. And since you’re going to take Kneeling Shot, using Deploy Pavise won’t make you as vulnerable.

I feel like this build is going pure PVP then XD. Pretty much the pure traps and tactical build right?

I don’t know if that build gonna be effective against mobs? Because it doesnt have much AOE archer skills now, what do you think?

Traps would be the AOE skills here tho, it feels like a sneaky build with a lot of buff.
I prefer going all fire while having defense skills such as traps, i think. What’s your opinion? XD

Idk how traps work in the game yet. So if the traps can delay/stun/slow/push/whatever else CC, then I would lean more to the last build you posted. However, if traps only damage enemies, then you won’t have any defensive skills aside from Hanging Shot and Swift Step.

Fulldraw skill does push the enemies. Traps, i think only attacks in my opinion tho.
With your build, we get much more debuff skills on mobs with rogue (less direct attack skill unlike fletcher) and quarrel shooter adds one more trap skill and another push/stun skill with stone shot.

I’m not sure if it is really worth it, whereas if i pick ranger and fletcher, i would have much more direct attack skills instead of some debuff and additional traps?

I would say your build is pretty much protect yourself with walls while keeping the distance between the mobs and you so that the traps can be triggered and debuff the mobs as well. So it is like a fortress build where you don’t move much?

Whereas my build would be more like attack, move and then put traps which is more like about moving from place to place

That makes sense. But if you really want your build to be attack > move, I’d get rid of Kneeling Shot and Steady Aim as they hamper your ability to move around and inflict continuous damage respectively.

Mhhh, Steady Aim still increases skill damage tho.

That’s true. But the problem with that is you won’t be able to use it with Sapper and Falconer skills. So that’s basically cutting it’s effectiveness in half. Since you’ll only be able to use it with 3 Ranks out of the 6.

Then i rather go with this build: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/ntrjp5qubd/

One more push skill, increased movement and attack speed, what do you think? xD
