I’m not sure if I should max Jolly Roger…
AFAIK you don’t need to max Jolly Roger anymore. The silver boost it gives depend on the amount of Corsair circles you have in your build rather than Jolly Roger’s skill level.
More skill level in Jolly Roger = more damage with missile attacks when combo is reached. Keep Jolly Roger lvl 2 (so the attribute works) and spend the rest of the points in Pistol Shot (very good skill, you shouldn’t skip it!) and Dust Devil.
If you’re making a pvp build, you should heavily consider getting Iron Hook. It’s not necessary if you’re a full PvE build though. PvP build should also get more CON than just 1, while PvE builds can stay at 1 CON.
I’m not doing PvP, so that leaves hooking skills out. The ten points from JR allow me to put skills this way:
Jolly Roger lv 5
Dust Devil lv 15
Pistol Shot lv 5
JR 5 because I heard there’s no point in putting points in Unlock Chest.
Does DWA work with pistol? If not I’ll just swap between weapons.
Also does my stat distribution work? 150 DEX, rest STR.
It does but DWA is quite bad since clones don’t copy it and attack speed doesn’t make DWA faster (not sure if this has been fixed in kToS already).
DWA with pistol is a bit buggy too (animation is quite weird).
150 DEX rest STR looks okay.
I’ve been checking skill descriptions and noticed something today:
Double Weapon Assault - Temporarily increases speed of basic attacks and dagger attacks. Reduces stamina consumption by 5% per Jolly Roger skill level when Jolly Roger buff is applied.
So having 15 in Jolly Roger would cut the stamina consumption by 75%?
If that’s true then I’d drop 10pts from Dust Devil in favor of JR.
Yes but like I told you, DWA is pretty weak
With high attack speed you can have your normal auto-atks deal as many hits per second as DWA (or even more)…
So 150 invested DEX will allow me to do that?
I can’t tell you for sure as I don’t know exactly how many hits per second 150 DEX gives you (it also depends on your ping).
What I can tell you is that DWA is a very interesting skill in theory but pretty weak in practice. Auto-atks are very weak if you aren’t a Chaplain / SR3 / QS3. You can’t compare DWA to the skills these classes provide for auto-atking.
Shinobi Clones + Auto-atk (without DWA, since clones don’t copy it) and high DEX can deal some damage, but it’s nothing too strong.
I see.
Time to hit the hidden quests for bonus stamina then.
