Just a note.
Alpha is when a game only has its barebackbone. Most times only dev and friends (or pay to get in … as new buisness model).
Beta is about half finished … atleast a playable version of the endvision of the game. Lot’s of stuff missing.

Closed Beta, requires a key normally.
Open Beta, will be open to all applicants. Means as logn as you’re elliglable you can play.

Have:
-steam
-don’t life in a country with a local publisher whos against you going to steam
-pc
-account here too maybe
-brains … optional
-time and patience … optional

I laughed more than I should :joy:

What it is true.

This generation of young gamers … needs to spoon feed how things work.
Cry for help and nerfs, for no reason.
Or blatantly defend totaly unbalanced mechanics where they profit from.

xD

The best is. Last time i went into an Alpha for a game called “Firefall” (it was once good, then it became a second swift step running and gunning) … we had people who actually complained the following point.

“WHY ISNT THIS GAME FINISHED YET!”
“WHY AM I FALLING TROUGH THE WORLD SOMETIMES!”
“WHY IS THIS A CHECKBOARD WAITING AREA!”
“ONLY PVP?!?!? IM OUTA HERE; STUPID GAME”

…

I was just dieing of laughter.

Since blizzard and other big companys started to claim “Beta” as a marketing free trial for they’re games. And other companys even just going for “Beta” to make money of it … and excuse it as still in development… just to hold out possible wipes and stuff…

Gamer generation now from the last 5~10 years … is just getting impatience.
Wants instant gratification.
Not to think a second about what to do.
Like to run and gun and press buttons.
Needs aim assist, cause hitting something is hard whiel running 50 miles/hour fast.

Oh and don’t forget… reading things outside of exploits and hacks is tedious… And only do the things someone with “knowledge” said is top meta ingame…
And the moment they lose … something must be wrong with the game. Obviously.

Ohh and yes. Don’t forget the hacker kids, who managed to google Hakss after a few trys. Then hop into a game like maplestory, coutnerstrike or something alike, and be real pro~

Cause they own the noobs, with they’re skill~

It’s pretty funny when game developers focus on graphic design and sell that as the number one feature and just abandon everything else.

I don’t really care if the video game looks the same as it is in real life. I play games to have fun, Not to appreciate the looks of a box.

And I love the fact that gamers focus on visual looks than the gameplay itself. Right now, there’s a chance that this is happening as well with ToS.

Although, I do love the class idea and the other gimmicks that it has, It still does feel like a typical MMORPG that merely supports itself through social interaction from other players, the grinding aspect of the game and nothing else.

If a door is open, why would you need a key?

Same concept with an MMORPG’s open beta.

SO you never went somewhere and thought “damn, this looks beautiful. I’d stay there and look at it all day” or found any visual art entertaining? Or have you never found someone attractive?

it’s like you’ve never played an actual MMO before.

How did people missed that big OBT announcement at the home page and forums itself…?

Cuz they not even try to read…at all…
