One simple fix to STR and INT - remove them

Great, my clickbait title worked.

Now. I don’t mean “remove them altogether”.
Instead, merge them into one stat, for example called Power.

This way:

  • Hybrid clerics get much better
  • More gear options for everyone
  • Makes it easier to balance skills

Tell me what you think, but I already know you think this is a great idea.

Great, thanks for your constructive feedback! You can leave now.

Yes lets make the most overpowered class in the game even better.

Trust me buddy, this doesn’t make the already powerful Cleric builds any stronger, because nobody makes hybrids.
This just lets you have more fun when creating something, instead of forcing you to choose either physical or magic.

I don’t get your idea of hybrid, Cleric class don’t need INT and STR, you either follow phys build or magic build, the only thing you use from both is SPR, that is, in case you pick Priest.

All the healing skills you get give X% from your max health, so you are covered in there.

As for your idea, i don’t think it is a good one for this game in particular, If you remove or merge STR and DEX, they will have to change a load of mechanics, and merge other stuff.

The way it is now i think it is fine, just need some balancing.

How bout letting stats get higher/grow on its own based on class circle type.

Characters can still get 1 stat point per level, but each level provides stat growth bonuses depending on repective class Circle build taken.

I don’t see how this actually changes anything. Okay, so now Wizards have higher physical attack and Swordies/Archers still go full DEX because they don’t care about having higher magic attack. I guess when your Wizard is hitting for 1s on the 10,000 magic defense mobs you can stab them with your dagger now? Is that the point?

i like this idea

simply make int and str get 1.5-2 matk/patk per stat will make it balanced.

I like this idea. Obviously just merging both doesn’t fix it all, so the changes IMC has planned will be needed to, but it’s definitely going to make those even better.

A lot of people here probably thought, how does this benefit them? And it may not. It doesn’t benefit me for sure.
But I asked myself a different question, how does it HURT me? And, I couldn’t find any reasonable answer. I guess more crazy hybrid clerics would be running around, like Diev Monks, or Krivis Monk Taoists. But there are more OP builds out there that don’t build either STR or INT.

So yes, I think this is a great idea.

This is a solution to a completely different problem. It’s aimed for cleric classes. I still would vote against this though. I would bet merging them would break everything

Yes please, great suggestion, clerics are in dire need of a buff

Builds will still want to go magic or physical focused due to gear. It’s just a minor buff to some cleric builds that happen to have some magic or physical damage skills in a build that is mostly of the other damage type. And against R8 mobs with tons of defenses it probably won’t even be enough to make a high rank magic diev’s carve do more than scratch damage anyway.

I take issue with your use of the word “problem” here, by the way. This is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone call the existence of INT and STR a “problem”. All of the discussions I’ve seen have been around the problem of scaling, not the fact that there are different stats for physical and magical damage.

The problem isn’t the existence of INT and STR. The problem op mentions is not being able to make weird builds that can mix both physical and magical attacks (because reasons). I honestly find it dumb. You’re either magical or physical. If you could excel at both, and on top of that, heal, what’s the point of the other classes

I didn’t mean to defend what he said. Just explain it a bit

merge other three stats as ‘defence’.

I saw a pistol with Int on it…

get rid of assigning stats and make this game purely equipment based
