So I’ll try to keep this short.
1) No bot reported on the forum is being banned.
Anyone who ever reported a bot can confirm this ; they don’t get banned. Just sit in Klaipeda between the Item Seller and the Blacksmith for 10 minutes. You’ll see countless bots using the same path again and again. Take a video, put in on forum, no action will be taken.
2) BOTs are obvious and don’t even try to hide anything.
The problem is that no in game monitoring is done by IMC.
I’ve checked one of these gold seller website, and they don’t even hide how they opperate. As for the bot program, the creators go as far as to GUARANTEE that you won’t get banned for using their product…
3) We have no clue who these GMs are. They were never introduced to us.
How were they hired?-- Heck knowing the track record of IMC, would it surprise you if they hired people who are part of the gold-selling / botting community by mistake?
(Oh and IMC, there is a difference between a GM and a forum moderator…)
Whatever the case is, I’m sorry but I don’t trust them and they aren’t doing anything. An in game GM, going around and banning BOTs for an hour or two would accomplish more than 2 months of player reports for that server. And with the game closed to new installs, there should be an end to the bot problem.
4)Did IMC really block new users from entering the game?
If only downloading the game is blocked, and not account creation, then there is a chance that a way exists for new accounts to join the game. Obviously the average guy wouldn’t know how to work it out, but I’m sure the gold-sellers would figure it out in a split second.
Here’s my suggestion ;
IMC - A lot of your players would be passionate enough to work for free, recording videos of bots all day long…
But for that, you need someone from your staff to step up and be able to :
- Start banning gold buyers.
- Tell people to stop reporting on the forum if they don’t have a video. The in game report is there for that.
- Tell people how long a bot report video should be and what it should show.
- Actually ban people who are caught botting on video immediatly.
