when you put down a bonfire i think the area around it should be a safe zone cuz i really hate getting attked while using one >.<make it a very small safe zone. and two i think you should use % on health and mana gain instead of a fixed amount and three get rid of the need to press number keys and just spawn the bonfire right next to my character.
that would be too easy to exploit, since you can put a bonfire almost everywhere…
even in boss fights.
There are safezones near pretty much every NPC, just find out where mobs deaggro and put your bonfire close to there.
you can disable bonfires in dungeons and boss fights that would give me a reason to BUY potions at least. and theres not that many npcs and what if i have a good farming spot i dont wanna lose it cuz i had to go to an npc and light a bonfire. im just saying there are ways to make it to where it dosnt have to be explotiable and i dont have to lose my prime spot XD
