So as stated here by IMCGames, we are hereby conducting a poll on which version of the class to use in the English translation:
P.S.: that’s a small ‘s’ in the second option, really bad choice of a font by strawpoll.

Quarrel Shooter just sounds better. The votes are currently overwhelmingly in favor of Quarrel Shooter, too.
I mean, what are we supposed to make of Quarrelshooter? A class that shoots quarrels? It just sounds silly and doesn’t look as pleasing to the eye.
What can I say…

The choice seems a bit obvious if you know what the words in the term mean.

What kind of shooter is it? It’s a shooter that shoots quarrels. If they shot arrows, you wouldn’t call it an Arrowshooter.
But Quarrel and Shooter are two different words :/.
Quarrel Shooter, Shooter of Quarrel, Quarrel’s Shooter. Someone who shoots quarrel.
I prefer Quarrelshooter.
The reason is it’s a name, putting Quarrel Shooter with 2 nouns seems odd.
Quarrelshooter make it more like an original name instead of a compound name.
Just like you’re changing Highlander to High Lander.
Schwarze Reiter having a space because it’s original name.
Also, typing Quarrelshooter ingame will be faster than Quarrel Shooter. xD
Uhm, compound means a mixture of two or more components. The examples on the linked page are “housetop” “playact” etc. So it’s the exact opposite of what you said, Quarrelshooter is the compound name, not Quarrel Shooter.
Oh and “Schwarzer Reiter” is German for “Black Rider”. It’s just using a different language, so not sure how it’s “original”.
Typing QS is even faster than Quarrelshooter
I’ve been looking around at several resources to figure out when a closed form and open form compound should be switched out. I’m not really finding any solid rules, because this seems to be about readability and such. I found this though, and it seems to be a relevant read.

It seems like no matter how you put it, you would be right. But something still feels off and I kinda want to know the solid rules before a decision is made. But based on gut, I still stand by Quarrel Shooter.
Not a big bother for me but…Quarrel Shooter is 2 names.
Quarrel and Shooter.
While Quarrelshooter is 1 name and it make the name feel more original, made by the game.
As I said, it’s not really bother me what the majority want.
I’m just saying what i prefer, since KR is using it.
I don’t think there is any readability issue or confusion between “Quarrel Shooter” and “Quarrelshooter”, but the former looks better to the eye, imho.
It’s just a rule that favours readability. Quarrelshooter would work, Quarrel-Shooter would also work. Quarrel Shooter is a compound word, and no matter how you chunk it together, it will always be correct. It’s up to everyone to vote for the one that reads properly. This is probably the real reason IMC left this up to the community instead of strictly laying down what they felt was correct.
ah.
so is this why people say that there is so much translation drama at github and international server translations are way behind?
I’m not aware of any “translation drama”. If “people” think the translations are way behind, they are always welcome to contribute to accelerate the process - just not with machine translations.
My guess is that you are misinformed. Thanks to the contributions made to the Github repository, IMC was able to hold the International beta sooner than expected. The contributors do not have a deadline since this is voluntary work. Expect a rise in quality when the next beta is released.
Also, I cannot recall of any ‘translation drama’.
P.S. To remain on topic: I vote for Quarrel Shooter.
I honestly always thought it was Quarrel Shooter with the space. A quick search with Google also favors Quarrel Shooter and honestly, it might be better SEO.
