but yea to all people who replied I fully acknowledge that its my fault for using it but what I guess I am trying to say is make it a bit more clear when describing things.

Thank you for your time.

You can clearly see the NPC selling hair in two diferent options, one of them being WIGS, an equipable item. What did you think the other option was?
It was no surprise the system in which the hairstyles works is very diferent from the wigs/default hair system.

Its okay to ask to this to be put in a more clear way in the game for people like you but its at very least imprudent to use a beauty cupom in your character when you dont exacly know what it will do.

And then, after all, you have the CHOICE to use it.

Welcome to Tree of Savior.
Get used to this kind of “features” or go play something else.

And remember, no matter what happens, it will always be your fault.

Me: “I’d like to remove this gem from my robe so I can add a better one”
Blacksmith: “Ok no problem…”

Blacksmith takes a small toothpick and removes the gem.

Blacksmith: “That will be one million silver, mister.”

ToS aims for realism and in real life you also can’t just revert back to your old hairstyle once you visit the barber shop.

“I didn’t read all these warnings and descriptions which clearly said what this would do!”

“Better blame anyone but myself!”

The tooltip on the coupon doesn’t say anything useful. The lack of information and clear descriptions always was one of the biggest problems about ToS since it launched and IMC even acknowledged it at some point but didn’t do much to fix it.

The bigger issue here is the stupidity of the whole Barber Shop thing and how it introduced a new way for changing appearance which only made things even more confusing and broken (wigs? haircuts? default hair? equippable hair items? dye compatibility?)

I myself know this game. I know the company behind it too so I know how to handle this insane design decisions. But man, for normal players (players who are used to play normal games made by normal devs, players with standards and common sense) this must be a nightmare.

No one left in the community to care about such things anymore, unfortunately.

I’m speechless man. How can you WK this bullshit feature ? No words to describe how stupid your arguments are.

So you think it’s completely fine to create misleading features in MMOS and create tons of tool tips to advertise people. Not only that, but coupons are really weak in term of tool tips. It’s amazing how many things you have to read on this game to be sure you’re not doing a mistake. If only it was only related to the gameplay, but no, every damn feature in this game need a novel of instructions. Stop defending this.

I hope you guys never open a shop IRL if you endorse that kind of idea.

The hilarious part being that even if every tooltip were fully fleshed out, nobody would read it anyway.

Oh please dont get me wrong. I myself dont like this system and the lack of information in details about several features.

The thing is, risking to use a coupon you dont know how it works from a misleading game and blaming exclusively IMC. of course it could all be avoid in its behalf, but the op also could choose not to take a risk, and instead decided to come here and being salty with diferent points of view while he could express his discontent as someone who wants this to change and not to be mean at a company as if it would work.

Most of the things IMC does could use a little more time and detail instead of shoving up lots of beta features which leads to this.

Or you could, I don’t know, ask the community about an item and what it does specifically? Crazy thought I know but tos does have a community you can ask on any server.

So you’re angry cause you got premium hair for free but can’t change back to noob hair?

Don’t worry, you can be sure that IRL about 99% of people don’t read the legally binding contract that they sign, either.

Mistakes happen, the problem here is that there is very little which is actually misleading in Tree (except for actual translation errors).

Problem is, the warnings get blown through all the time, and then everyone refuses to own their mistake.

Because most of the time you don’t need to read it, or there’s a beautiful * explaining you details if necessary. Maybe it’s different where you live, but in my country I don’t need to take time to read details for every transaction I do.

Making a difference between Wigs and Hair is not misleading ? It’s not the stupidest idea of all time ? They could add Wigs to Hair but they really needed to create this new feature which is following new rules. It’s what we are talking about here. Only one misleading feature is enough, and IDK if you actually followed events in this game to make that kind of statement. Even the last event “Rank reset event part2” but you have something like 2 rank reset voucher during the event.

I still don’t get how it is ok to need instructions for every move in game. If your goal is to retain customers, why would you not make transactions more accessible and simple ?

Can’t wait for the next feature that includes new hairstyles with new rules.

Yeah you do, you just haven’t gotten screwed over yet by not doing it. The first time it happens though, you’ll regret it, trust me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I can see how it might be misleading if you did not understand the difference, or maybe even missed the beauty shop update. I think IMC’s biggest struggle overall is remembering that they’re developing an MMO while making changes over the course of many months/years. Not everything is going to make sense to someone who joins several months/years after the fact. But they are two very distinctly different things. You also have to remember there’s a huge language barrier here. IMC’s localization team is not native English speakers. A lot of nuance that probably seems crystal clear to them is just lost over here.

Well that’s my point. Almost everything in this game is spelled out very clearly. Most people just breeze through the explanations when they are available. Every single time there’s an update, new event, new feature, I feel like I have to spend 2-3 days explaining it to people because they missed something and still have questions. I don’t mind doing that, because there are things I miss all the time too. But when I go back to the original explanation, patch notes, what have you, it’s pretty clear and I just missed it.

People are way too quick to shift blame for missing an explanation onto someone else, that’s all I’m saying.

pretty sure it’s hinting enough when
you have a choice that says “change hairstyle”
and another that says “purchase wig and dye”

But your point is half wrong, as said before, most of the time they create wrong tooltips, features without tooltips and they add misleading information almost every patch… We really don’t have the same PoV about the number of things that are spelled out very clearly in this game. I remember one time when they literally posted in news for an event, then removed the new in order to edit it after the event was launched…

In any language, when you use one word to describe a feature, you use it again to avoid any trouble. This logic is the same for every language, it’s common sense. More about it below.

Yes. That’s why if they want to stick to the same logic, they have to name items correctly. Hairstyle/Wig, but they give you a hair coupon, not a hairstyle coupon nor a wig coupon, a hair coupon. Hairstyle and Wig are two words that are really accurate to tell what you’re talking about, hair is just vague in its definition and is corresponding to the two categories.

A clear and simple thing to do is to name it a Hairstyle coupon. I doubt it’s the hardest part when you’re creating a new item.

Now what people are annoyed of is the fact that they create two categories that are not following the same rules. You can’t switch hairstyle without losing the previous one, logic. You can change your wig anytime without losing the previous one, logic. You can’t dye your hairstyle with known dye but you can with wigs… logic ?

By the way it means all saviors have naturally no hair at all because you can change your WIG color at the beginning of the game. :tired:

the coupons only work on the change hairstyle option though ‘w’;;
