I have an idea about a dragon build, that is outside of meta.
Sw1 - highlander 3 - hoplite 2 - dragoon
What are your thoughts? Will this work?

it works as a boss slayer, problem is most of your hitboxes are small so outside of it you’ll have to work your way on stacking mobs everytime to kill them.
That was the idea, to make a swordsman based boss killer.
I already have the meta hop3 doppelsoldner goon
But kind of want to try that highlander thing
Question though, I have never played a highlander, are the skills locked to two handed swords?
Only cross guard is, It’s fine to not use it, but works quite well if you have 15/15 cross guard to stack with spear lunge. the only problem is setting it up can take instantly to quite a bit that some people don’t really bother doing it at all
Looks like a nice build, not better than hoplite 3 doppel dragoon c2 imo.
If you are one of those people who refuse to do meta builds because they wanna be special (very stupid approach) then by all means you can built your dragoon like that, highlander 3 is a strong pve class
now if you do want to build highlander 3 then i wouldn’t get crossguard lvl 15 because having to switch between 2h sword and a spear sux especially when it cancels finestra, if you are to go highlander 3 leave cross guard out.
I already have a 280 meta dragoon. I want to try something different
i think highlander 3 hoplite 2 can be good, just don’t get cross guard.

Yea. I was thinking cross guard - skull swing - spear lunge - serpentine - dethrone x2 should provide insane burst with relatively low cooldown. And while you wait you can do stabbing, pierce, vertical slash etc.
Also highlander 3 costume <3

not really a bonus since it costs real money.
but shinobi murmilo though…
i have jumped on a band wagon of buying tokens when they were 350k on market right before go live and got bunch TP after… so I am covered there… but thanks for thinking about my wallet
nah im thinking about my wallet
i’d never pay real money for anything in this game
I can see it being a potent debuff build, though don’t start complaining that your damage is subpar. I’m a HL3 fanboy myself, so I’m totally cool with HL3 being splashed in everything lol
What do you mean sub-par? damage on spear lunge + serpantine + dragontooth + stabbing is already good on regular hop3-doppel-goon. I would imagine crossguard > skullswing > into the old combo will be even grater
probably because you don’t have dov and cyclone, but you probably don’t need cyclone anyway because the 5sec debuff won’t last long in the first place, better spend them with dethrone.
cross guard isn’t really reliable because of the setup, it works only if you are sure to block it and the monster is actually attacking you.
DOV + Cyclone from metagoon provides filler outside of your pierce damage and doesn’t require as contrived of a setup. With crossguard, you need to switch to 2h, wait for the boss to hit, then switch back and try and use the combo within the debuff period of crossguard. Skullswing is definitely a bonus, but it helps more for party play than it does for solo damage.
Anyone have confirmation that Serpentine’s debuff works for all swordsman attacking the monster or only those in party w/ the Goon2 who inflicted the debuff?

Oh thanks, I may have misunderstood the description in the translations thread.
So it’s all physical attack, even from Archers? Wouldn’t it make some Archer builds even more stronger and possibly make them WBers? I’ve already witnessed QS3 SR2s get Dullahan cubes.
Also, wouldn’t there be possibility of a Fencer C3 outdamaging a meta Goon2 during WB due to being able to benefit from the Serp debuff as well?
I originally thought that this build would make Goon2 in the top 3 WB DPS, but now considering the mechanics of how the debuff works, that might not be the case. Of course, this is all speculation/theorcrafting from me now.
