No Reset Stats in the Cash shop?

The cash shop in iToS will most likely have some diference compared to kToS cash shop so I think making any speculation right now won’t benefit anyone until the iToS gets released.

Firstly, you can’t PvP with the current arena until you become R5 which sorta make you PvP only early-mid game so you can enjoy whatever build you want at early game. The argument about people might get it easier with a stats reset is invalid too since they have to get it through the cash shop and that’s a good sum of money which is open to everyone anyway.

Im aware of that but unlike pve content that is out lvled like earth tower and the like regardless of your lvl be it 200 or 600 gvg is end game content.

We have to wait till 500 or 600 w/e it is to see what pve will offer. Currently the only concrete end game is pvp.

nope

definitely nope

Want to break the game right at the start huh?

I have been saying this ^ on other threads about CS for months and they still hit the same key about it.

Well, I doubt it matters what we say right now.

IMC probably already has a plan. Our feedback can change it, after release. Right now we’re just wasting our time ‘3’

Well, to be fair, they said they know our concerns about the CS becoming P2W so we can only wait and see what is their answer.

In all honesty, as long as it don’t cause me trouble, i will play the game, just don’t expect me to buy stuff that i find useless, at least for me.

The point is that you must NOT soloing your way up if you choose tanking for your main game role. Tank are for party play, without group it isn’t capable to deal enough damage to comfort playing and it is how it should be i think. If you want to solo grinding then you probably need to choose another role, like firstline dps Higlander-Dopel or something like that.
Stat and skill reset it’s a reason why in many games we have a high lvl tanks whouse don’t know how to tank, or supports whouse don’t know how to support.
The fact that skill reset remain class build intact can smooth that effect, but not nullify it - if you play offensive with offensive skillset you don’t learn how to tank well. Then you reset skills at high level, and get a tank skillser you will be like after middle school and you were trown right on the Ph.D exam, without highschool and other stuff - you will have acces to the endgame content and appropriate difficulty without practice and personal skills, wouldn’t be able to react fast - you just didn’t develop the habits yet! That’s why i think that constanly allowed reset will be bad in some terms after release.

P.S. English not my native, so in case you get me wrong - there is no offence for anybody.

I must disagree,

Tanks are already in short supply in any MMO.

Hell, I’ll use FFXIV as an example for this.

You can dungeon your way pretty much from 15-60. Tanks (because of their minuscule numbers) get queues instantly. Sure, in a game like this, being stuck needing to party as a tank is fine.

Tanks have the means to cap quickly and efficiently, faster than both DPS and Healers.

Now, ToS, the first dungeon was what…50? My memory is fuzzy but the next one was something close to 100, right?
Thing is, in a game like this, you’re better off taking a Swordsman that dipped their toes into Peltasta for Swash buckle and went something else for damage.

Now, this type of build still works for tanking, currently (as far as we know) but this may not suffice for dungeons as we go higher up. I would say Stat resets are more of a commodity if tanks can effectively and optimally build that way and still be able to tank whatever endgame content there is at whatever the cap is.

If not, then resets need to be a thing. Grind parties can be quite fickle, especially if another play can offer the same asset a pure tank can (Swash buckle) on top of more damage.

Also, I don’t think it would bring any issue at all. Regardless of whether or not someone just changed stats to tank and has not tanked a single dungeon in their ToS career, they will still need to just learn the fight for the instance.

Just as a DPS needs to, just as a Healer needs to. From my past experiences in FFXIV, the endgame tanking in it was simple. Much easier than being a DPS. Purely Tanking endgame dungeons can only be so difficult, after all. And I doubt entry level content is going to be a strain for someone that has just capped. At this time though, we’re just playing with theoretical information.

All I am saying is it wouldn’t be wise to force the necessity for a Pure Tank and then punish said Pure Tanks while they level with no stat resets.

It may work out fine at first, where people are looking for parties but populations diminish in games; it happens all the time. What happens when the Pure Tank can’t find anyone to party with? Then we fall into an even worse version of the common Trinity system issue.

No one plays a tank.

GOD HAD SPOKEN! Said it all, no more questions your honor.

Games have a nasty habit of not including stat resets until much later in the future. I am fine with resets as long as they are there from the get-go, because then I can plan to go high into STR/INT and have less CON.

If I don’t know that resets will be there, I will be forced to put more into defensive stats to be competitive when I finally reach cap.

If they keep their new idea of adding the newer classes as hidden classes in previous ranks, then they should allow a way to “Uncircle” a class >_>
to avoid having to remake a character just because a new class came out, that fits your build better

i see your point. but a class reset isnt going to happen. never will. never should.
you should just make a new character then.

I feel like this kind of thinking from IMC would kill the game…
since they want it to “take months to reach endgame level” people were already complaining that exp was too slow when we were on x3 exp table.

it makes no since for months of grinding to go out the window because they decided to make Murmillo a hidden rank 5 instead of 8…

I hope there will be one-time class resets then changes that ruins previous slass sinergys would happen, that would be fair.

Dont worry. Im sure both stat reset, skill reset will be given in some event like KTOS or if there is some major changes.

I don’t like resets of any kind. They cheapen character building by removing the consequences of a person’s choices when they build their character.

MMOs and character building have become a bland, homogenized experience where everything is as easy to level as everything else, and no one can ever look back and lament a mistake or take pride in noticing an advantage.

There will be resets, of course. You have to cater to the masses if you want to make money, and most people don’t want to think things through or make interesting sacrifices to achieve something novel. I hold these people in extreme contempt, but I’m rational enough to understand these games are for them, not for me.

I just pray there will not be class resets. That would be catastrophic. Every character could and would be every other character.
