No Exp Gain if enemies are 21~35 levels higger or more

Well maybe it’s just me since English isn’t my main language.
But reading the 11 October patch about the new exp gain methods i was excited

EXP penalties according to monster-character level gaps have been changed as follows
A) Character level > monster level
- 5% EXP gain reduction per level if difference is 21 levels or more
- No EXP gain if difference is 40 levels or more
B) Character level < monster level
- 5% EXP gain reduction per level if difference is 21 levels or more
- 25% (out of total 100%) EXP gain if difference is 35 levels or more

So we can kill Truffles at 250 without exp penatily. It’s awsome.

What about if i kill en enemy 35 levels higger (with help of party members) ?
Teorically it’s written i will gain 25% of total monster exp. But it doesn’t work.

I just tried ot of curiosity, killed a monster with base exp 15.000 and it gave 0 exp to my girfriend level 40 character.
I believe It’s not a bad thing to prevent powerlevelling. Just it’s not fair to write someting in a patch and to not respect it.
So we get 0% if the monsters are 35 leveles or higger, or just can’t i interpret the patchnotes?

Anyone know?

5% EXP gain reduction per level if difference is 21 levels or more [1]
25% (out of total 100%) EXP gain if difference is 35 levels or more [2]

Assume that you are lv1 and the monster is lv25, you will get 75% exp with 5% exp penalty per level (-5% x 5 levels). [1]

Assume that you are lv1 and the monster is lv35, you will get 25% exp with 5% exp penalty per level (-5% x 15 levels) [2]

Assume that you are lv1 and the monster is lv40, you will get 0% exp with 5% exp penalty per level (-5% x 20 levels)

In short, any monsters with level difference 40 or above will not give any exp. Not a big deal. you just have to stay within level difference of 40 to powerlevel. Lower level characters require little exp anyway so the exp penalty isnt really that bad.

Patch notes did not specifically say no exp on hunting overleveled monsters above a certain level, (B), but it did mention in (A), on overleveled characters.

Please clarify,
@STAFF_Max

They did mentioned 5% exp reduction per level if level is 21 or higher. Logically -5% per level x 20 levels(after 20 level difference) = 100% reduction, which means no exp after 40 level difference.

Read again, in (B), it states that 25% of 100% exp if 35 levels or more, in no way did it say 0% exp at 40.

Well…by now you shouldve known IMC is good at making typo even in official announcements…

Or maybe in a typo in their coding, no one knows.

So what was the level of the monster you killed with your girlfriends lv40 character? With 15000 base exp it doesn’t seem like it would be even near the lv40 range for her.

It was above 250 i guess.
the problem is that there is 0 EXP if you get 40+ more levels of enemy.
It’s written and it’s a given fact.

They meant to SET at -75% exp for monsters that have more 35+ levels than you. But there is no set. Probly they didn’t coded right

B) Character level < monster level
25% (out of total 100%) EXP gain if difference is 35 levels or more

read better.
OR MORE meant it should not care if you are 40 or 200 levels under enemy level. “Or more” meant 36 levels difference, 37. 38, 100, 200, 9999… and so on
