Nexon did better than IMC at opening

And you take this BS at all?
Really they have 4 servers from the staart but opened oblly 2? then added 2 more in a so bad way its stupid. It was like we think of adding eu servers some tome then in a day adds it. Same thing on thecsea server. Why not open all 4 at the start ad all of them was ready.

nah, @TilliOD made the correct point. Nexon had some pre-study before opening and IMC did not.

I didnt say so wtf dud .

Imc failed to do the pre study because many people buy at last minute. We made the same point.

uh, well there’s less people in Korea than the whole world…so…

still Nexon did better at opening, there is no excuse

What imc did wrong is that they didn’t have a backup plan.

I don’t think these situation would happen to ktos because they won’t have a sudden influx of player due to its easier to predict the Korean player than the whole world.

i think this was their back plan…their original plan was rejected by the community–> $50 3month EA

it is still not an excuse. a fail opening is still a fail opening. like a company CEO made a decision on a marketing strategy and suddenly the market tsunami strikes the world wide businesses. he cannot give the damn excuse because that is his duty to make sure what is the future.

I remember sitting on top of portals trying to reach other maps talking with other people because all the channels were full.

even we had problems in krToS but not as problematic as iToS one

I never said that it’s not failed. I’m merely explaining what lead to this failure, what should be blamed, and what is not.

Having not enough server capacity and failing at just day 1 is still acceptable. IMC is a small company, they can’t afford to rent a high capacity server from the start, therefore they would just rent a lower capacity server that can fit the number of people who bought the founder pack with some tolerance (maybe double).

What they didn’t expect or couldn’t prepare for due to resources, is the exponential growth of the players. Yes, the number of people who bought the founder pack at last minute is probably a few times of the initial amount, because many would had buy a founder pack after knowing his friend bought one. What IMC can do is increase the server capacity afterward.

However, after the failure of first day, this is where their behavior became unacceptable. They are not allocating resource to stop gold seller (which is pretty simple by banning them on appearance, or impose some stricter rule to shout chat). The old bugs are reappearing (seriously? that’s some few months old bug). They are too slow, or incapable to fix the new bug in time. They are not providing band aid solution except exp tome. They are not even allocating resources to calm down the community and let the rage grow.

That’s basically it. The lag by the unprepared influx of player is bearable, the game breaking bug such as stuttering and Commander Load is just crazy.

if this is hardware issue. we could have trouble playing at klaipeda. not even sure this tuesday MT will able to fix the CommanderLoadFail issue

Banning the gold seller which is actually causing the stuttering should be parallel with stabilizing the server though.

Don’t forget that since the first day of kOBT, IMC do daily maintenance (Major and emergency), except on weekends for 2 weeks. Weekly maintenance every Thursday after kTOS grand opening.

in iTOS, we almost do not have a maintenance except for emergency maintenance. Tomorrow they are expected to perform major updates, let’s wait and see what will happen tomorrow.

For me, that’s the reason why kTOS doing better than iTOS at opening/obt.
:sunglasses:

Yes, I agree with you. How IMC handle this situation is just plainly irresponsible.

at least we didn’t get entirely disconnected, we were free to walk around
