Can someone Explain the difference between using a 2 hand Staff and a 1 handed Rod with whatever as the off hand
Which is better for Wiz3>Ele3>?
does it just depend on what weapon it is ? or do 2 hand give something that 1 hands don’t offer?
The typical progression for memecaster is
-2h staff until 75
-Arde dagger + rod until 200+ when elemental prop falls off hard
-rod + shield (or other suitable offhand) with a large amount of con 240+
There are exceptions for specific weapons, ex: audra staff for cryo3

2H staff is really never better til 280 with the best staff in the game. Archers are wizards biggest weakness and shield is a great counter. Rod also auto attacks much faster which undervalued for leveling. So even if you don’t have Arde, Rod is clearly better.
Rod+ shield/Dagger > 2 hand rod Till way end game

I don’t understand. Why is Arde Dagger important to an Elementalist when they only have one nearly-unreliable fire spell on a long cd?
i was thinking the same question, every build i read don’t really see people with Fire Skills

Arde does not increase your fire damage… it adds around 500 fire damage to EVERY damage tick of every skill / auto attack you have. Just like blessing and it stacks.
