"New" Smite animation?

Hey guys, im from [SA]Silute, and after this last maint i just noticed that my Smite (paladin) is hitting faster. But theres a little delay on damage. I mean, its like a new animation on Smite with the old dmg calc. I dont know if this is a bug or something, since we play with like 200ms, cuz server location…

i play with 300 ping, everything is as normal as IMC can be.

Yeah I notice it too. It’s a bit quicker than before. Is there any reason why IMC have to change it?

I am not gonna complaint about the change in the animation. But… Why the heck should IMC change something that’s not broken? Why not actually fixing somethng that’s already broken?

Cmon IMC, switch your priority and do it correctly.

The shorter smite animation is a recent change on kToS that for some reason it got ninja patched on iToS. lol.

There is one more change that has yet to come for paladins (C3 specifically), but yes the animation change sounds like a good buff for the class.

What is that change?

Barrier will receive an attribute that reduces the damage received from projectiles by 30% at max level.

Yah, i just noticed that in ktos smite is faster. But my problem is with the damage delay. Not sure if its cuz my ping (190-220~), or a game bug, idk. Hope someone who plays with less ping can confirm! :slight_smile:

There is indeed a bit of delay on damage but just slightly. My average ping is around 100ms.

I think there’s no change on the actual speed but rather a change on the animation to make it look quicker. :weary:

yes, thats what i meant to say! animation is a bit faster, i think its a huge improvement for pvp paladins! thats nice, now they just have to adjust the damage to match the animation!

It’s not related to ping.

Looks like the client is updated with the faster Smite animation but the server isn’t, thus you get a quick cast animation but a delay for the numbers to actually pop up and enemy take damage (server and client aren’t in sync).

Yes, it can be considered a bug, but it’ll be fixed once the server gets updated with the new version of Smite as well.

Hes not wrong, I also noticed this weird faster animation of Smite, seems something from that emergency maintenance caused another weird side effect, at least this time it isn’t something negative for once, I guess even IMC doesn’t epic fail every single time. But then again, they forgot to update the server on it as well, and my ping is very low usually soooo…
