New Players are bottle-necking in Tenet Gardens

Maybe introducing them to the idea of non-linear zones before hand with a quest would help. Or expanding the channels for just the Gardens. They all kind of flood in there… The zone gets laggy and many of the quests wont work because of the lag.

And a lot of players leave in a huff and some of them write bad reviews when they would have had a better experience if they had known Orsha’s lag free, quest rich zones were just a 500 silver scroll away.

Yeah, or we could just not hold their hand eat the bad reviews and stand with our niche community and say f’ em… Cause they’re too stupid to look up a map, a wiki, an XP guide. Game is research heavy regardless if they don’t run into problems with Tenet Gardens they will run into problems later. Our game isn’t user friendly and that’s how I like it anyway. But nice thought anyway… Throwing those filthy casual bones…

Well those filthy casuals make up a very large player base. You can’t rely wholly on Kim Hakkyu’s Ragnarok/Granado cult to fund the game. You should be at least somewhat approachable till players are invested.

Part of designing a solid game is making sure players aren’t lost. You don’t need to pull the “hey listen” Navi card but you should at least indicate core parts of the game to the player. Like the abundant zone choices.

They’d have to be smart enough to actually know about Orsha… :frowning: We’re talking about average guy that just saw a twitch.tv stream brought the game on a whim cause they liked the art and music. And then just took the starter town and followed the quests.
