Hello I have a friend who recently played, actually yesterday. ToS says he can only trade on 17/10/23. Will using a token on his account enable him to trade immediately?

Tsk IMC should remove this restriction. It’s a burden to new paying players.
Unfortunately its a counter measure against bots. He will have to wait.
He will buy a token (load from steam wallet/cc/pp) in the first place to get rid of the restriction. I don’t know how bots can get advantage of this? They will be paying also for a token for their new account to be able to trade.
Like Queue said, buying a Token will not delete the restriction. You get the 1 week restriction, Token or not.
It’s the same for bots, even if they did buy a Token they cannot trade. But it doesn’t matter anyway. The bots are automated, they just grind for a week, getting lots of silver, gear, and levels, then after one week they can start selling anyway.
I agree with you, this restriction is terrible for players and does nothing against bots, it’s pretty ridiculous.
What makes it worse is that the first week of playing an MMO is when players decide if they’ll stick to the game (and spend) or not - this kind of restriction is just the perfect excuse to ditch the game and never look at it again.

But then again what stuffs are you buying so early in the game, only things that are worth buying are the “end game” stuffs aside from alchem pots on market. For gears heck just use equips from quests/random drops from hg or fields till you can trade the next week.
It’s not about the quality of items. It’s a nuisance to newbies who are interested in the game in general. It makes a bad first impression.

You’ll be surprised how much anti-bot measures are put in place that are a pain to normal players.

Pretty sure thats the reason silver lottery from gacha medal exchange was removed.
Ok, they byu tp, so what? Even buying and using token does not remove this 1 week trade restriction.
Just saying what i dod as people hopes that buynog a token would remove trade block.
IMC should just remove trade restriction, but thats my opinion, as it does more harm than good.
