(New Player Question) Is there a drawback to ranking up to class level 2 past level 15?

Hello, Just started playing ToS. Let me say it looks and, feels like a great game thus far. I can certainly understand what all the gaining hype is about.

I’ve noticed the player base of the server gradually increasing as more and, more new players join the community and, take an invested interest in this up and, coming New MMO-RPG.

That being said i have a few questions i am unable to find the answer to anywhere in the wiki, tosbase or, reddit.

Question #1 :

I have been playing for a few hours or, so. Now that i have reached level 15 i have been notified that i may choose to attain my next Class Rank. Class Rank 2. However, i continued to level up my character passed level 15 to level 16 and, so on.

My question is this, Is there any drawback at all to not ranking up to class Rank 2 right away once at level 15? and, continuing to level up beyond level 15 without attaining Class Rank 2 right away?

I am a Wizard btw.

Question #2 :

What is the max character level for any character? I have looked for this information through various sites and, am unable to find a conclusive answer to this question. What is the highest character level a player can obatain in ToS?

Question #3 :

Is there any information available on the hidden classes?
Where can i find this information?

Thanks in advance!

  1. The only drawback is that you’d get the class advancement later on a bit later because the exp gain for class levels stops at 15. This is pretty much a nonissue if you do it this early, you’ll gain the exp needed rather quickly and it’ll all even out.

  2. 280 currently. Max rank at the moment is 7. The cap is definitely expected to be raised.

  3. uhh, tosbase is untranslated but you should be able to get any info you want from asking around. I’m a Rune Caster, if that’s what you’re interested in. I can try to answer any questions you have.

I’m sorry i’m not sure i understand. Let me just run this by you to see if i understand this at all.

So, Class rank 2 becomes available at level 15. So, i think i understand what that means. It means that because, I am already level 16 i have effectively lost out on one class level of the second rank, rank 2. Therefore gaining 1 less skill point to spend overall? Is this accurate?

I think you’re confused. There is two exp bars, right? A yellow and a green one. One is your level, the yellow one, the other one is your job level, the green one. The green one stops at 15 no matter what, that’s the time you change your rank.

Character level and class level are both different things. Character’s gives status point while class’s gives skill points, it will never pass level 15. So do your job advancement when you reach Class Level 15

Oh, no. Class levels and your normal levels are completely seperate. There is no permanant consequence to leveling on your normal levels while your class levels are maxed. What I mean is that you will continue to proceed expwise for normal levels even if class levels are maxed, meaning you’d hit class advancements later on a tiny bit later than most people. Not an issue.

You can advance whenever you please, and still get all 15 skill points. Skill points are tied to class levels.

Sorry for the delayed response, was running dungeons.

Thanks a bunch man. I guess i was just being too dense to realize the concept i see now what you’re talking about. Character and, Class level are completely independent of each other. So, there must be no drawback. Thank you again for, Clearing this up for me. I was afraid i’d have to start over. I’m realizing now that i may have to do an amount of research regarding the content of the game so, that i don’t make any mistakes in building my Character. I don’t want to have to start over if i can avoid it.

Any advice for a newer player?

Anytime! And don’t worry, I see a lot of new players confused about it and I’m pretty sure I was at one point haha.

Yeah, research is a thing in this game, slightly unfortunately. Try to plan your build using tosbase before jumping in is probably the best advice I can give. You should ask around if you plan to use an optimal build, otherwise just do as you please. A maxed c3 class is always nice. I play with a suboptimal build, it was ridiculous at times but a lot of fun.

Also- don’t sell monster drops without checking to see if they can be sold on the market or used for recipies. You can make decent money early on by selling corpse hands, for instance.

Oh and, borderhug maps to 100% explore them. Then, speak to the Wings of Vibora lady in either Orsha or Klaipeda and get 3 cards per map, extremely handy for leveling. I start doing this at around level 3 card maps.

Also, switch questlines (Klaipeda <—> Orsha) around when you reach Tenet Church (Klaipeda) or Novaha (Orsha). Or earlier, but that’s when the maps start to outpace you a little bit difficulty wise.

Keep yourself 5 levels below the map you are questing in, don’t overcard UNLESS you want the next job advancement (I’m impatient and card to advancements as soon as I have enough cards to get em). This lets you net field exp alongside cards, making things quite a bit smoother overall. Also, try to kill as much as you can for the same reasons.

&& store gems in your bank asap. You lose them when you die, and they are actually useful late-game. Feel free to merge them into each other if they’re taking up space. Don’t waste time/money socketing gems or anything below level 230ish, you’ll pretty much be fine from questing and recipie drops until then.

That’s all I can think of on the spot laughs. Are you on Klaipeda? If so, you can add me (IGN: Daruma) and ask questions as you come across them, I’d be glad to help.

Ask a lot and never skip tutorials…

also, if you press F10 in-game it has a help list
