I’m about to start playing ToS and I want to roll a dragoon mainly for PVP but I also want to be able to do PVE content with the same character. I’m currently trying to build and plan my character before going ahead and I just want to know if the Peltasta rank is a must for PVE, and is it possible for me to roll a PVP build such as SWD3 -> CATA3 -> DRGN1 and still be viable in PVE as either a tank or maybe a dps?

sorry for being a noob, but I have one more question;
Why is rank1 hoplite so good? Would it not be better to get rank2 swrd so I can get restrain + level 10 gung ho and concentrate?

from what i heard, the most challenging content only wants sword if you’re either a shinobi or a full tank. full tank doesnt mean full con i dont think but it could mean con/spr to deal with magic. and though shinobi is suicidal it does have the best damage potential, appearently.
The reason why u get hoplite is because it allows you to use a 1h spear. So you can use cata, dragoom skills while tanking with a shield.
Also hoplite has finestra which boost crit rate and block rate. And stabbing and piercing really helps you to lv up faster than pelt or sw2.
Stabbing and piercing are powerful att even at c1
what stats are you adding for this particular build ?
full CON to maximize HP and block potential
Hop1 is required for the build to work. Its the only way you can equip a 1h weapon to use taunt while mounted and use cata skills while tanking.
Is that build capable of tanking endgame (as ET) or nah?
