New player EU, question about NA server

Hello, so im a new player…
I am an ooooold RO player who tried this game in beta and quite liked it, but i didnt joing the game right away because my friends wouldnt join me…
now i’ve been able to convince 2 of my closest (and quite nerd) friends to play and… i should say it… we are having a blast despite all of its shortcomings

now, the problem is that we started on the EU server and we reached lvl80, but we are starting to worry that we wont be able to find any group or that we wont be able to do the endgame content because of the low population…

so… any other european player can tell me how the situation is on the NA server?
i created a character there just to //ping it and i saw a result ranging from 0.16 to 0.22… bad, but id didnt quite feel unplayiable on the starting maps…

Anyone is doing it on the 280+ levels without any major problems/unwanted deaths/etc?

tnx in advance

Are u aware that behavior like this is the reason why there are so few ppl On fedi?

…besides theres no real Problem finding people for endgame stuff here anyways. Just continue.

So? Nothing wrong in abandoning a dead server. Go to klaipedia or SEA servers and you will see what a relatively populated server looks like

Fedimian population is low, but still enough to enjoy the game. No problem to make groups for high level content.

That said, if you want to play on another server, consider the SEA server instead. If you’re going to suffer high ping and different timezone, might as well go to where you’ll actually find more players.

Lately there seems to be an increase of new players on Fedimian. I guess you are still able to find new groups!
Fedimian also has its upsides for example farming high level dpk items isn’t hell because you can typically have a chanel for yourself. Also guilds are still looking for new people. A smaller population is better for the gameplay anyways as long as you stick with your friends.

Really? I thought it’s total IMC’s incompetence, lies and cashgrab.

Or go to jTOS and you will see what a crowded server looks like.

Not for Massively Multiplayer Online game. Higher population is always better.

Can’t say i ever had any problems finding a party in Fedimian. So it’s not quite as low as you think.

Not for TOS. All other players are an annoyance while questing because they kill monsters and collect stuff that you need and the respawn always feels like ages. And imagine how it would be if you had to share the high level dpk drop maps with 10 more people trying to farm it - pure hell.
And this is most of the time you spend in the game.
Sometimes you might need others for grinding parties but if you play coop with 1-2 friends you can do any content except ET.

ToS is designed as a solo game, with some bits that make it look like a mmo.

From my jTOS experience I only hunted Galok for advancement quest for 10 minutes or so. Others are ok, even Glizzardons.

Surprisingly, maps are quite empty. Not many players there and not many bots. Maybe japs are doing daily dungeons and not questing much.

I even have a Miko and it took only 1 day 4 hours 30 minutes to finish the last rank + pre-quest.

Also Nexon isn't cheap on servers and most maps have 5 channels and town maps have 10. Just increase the amount of channels.

IMC may decide to reduce all maps to 1 channel and it will be a total mess even with Fedi amount of players/bots. And it will happen sooner with lower population.

TL;DR: Other players are annoyance because IMC is cheap on channels.

Not really. You will have 1/10 probability of getting the item but it will proc 10 times more often. This is all the same.

Seems like you have never farmed the items yet. They respawn is the limiting factor. And the worst nightmare is is you already farm for more than a half hour and then other players appear. It’s actually hard work which gets easily stolen by other people. That’s why you have to make sure that you are alone on these maps with your group, never be in channel 1 and if you farm alone make sure that all other channels are also empty such that no one even tries to steal your drop.
Last update some of the farm maps got bumped to 7 channels on Fedi which means in ch5-7 you can usually farm the mats without fear now.

Also

A friend of mine needed a bit under 3h for the prequest without Orsha praying because next to no competition at all and some help in Manahas.

Well no in my opinion. Solo is boring and not that enjoyable (apart from Cleric). It feels best as coop game in small groups of 2-5. Although questing can prove to be a bit of pain in parties if you aren’t used to it.

Indeed. Didn’t know. More channels will solve it anyway.

And if amount of players (or cash from them) will drop below a certain threshold, IMC will give up and we will see 1~2 channels there.

While more populated servers will keep a higher amount of channels longer.

Without leveling I suppose?

It didn’t take much longer than my average R5 leveling.

Also we are talking about a server with 500~800 players population vs ~38k. (most people who wanted a Miko already have it but still)

EDIT: Oops, dsregard my average time, I used most of my event 150% tomes on my pre-miko.

Is that (23h) total play time to reach Rank 5?

To reach R6.

Decent I guess. I would really like to see the times I needed for class changes. :o

It’s easy to reach r6~7 now with all the changes and stuff.
I just started a new pryo within a week of 2 hours play time each day i got to r7

the curve jumps most after 290.

anyway back to op question. don’t look at the surface level. Think about the enjoyment.

Each server has their pro and cons.

Yep. I personally enjoy the leveltrain which actually works really good on Fedi.

1-40: Mainquest until Tenet Church for symbol and stats. 30min.
40-105: AFK in Mausoleum. No play time, do other stuff.
105-R5: Mainquest for stats and Siauliai. Play time 2h.
R5-R6: AFK in Dina Bee. No play time, do other stuff.
R6-R7: Tome, clear voucher 190 with other people. Play time 30min.
R7-R8 (275): Lv10 EXP+ card quests. 6h.
275-300: Quests. 6h
300-314: Explore. 1h
314-317: Grind mats in party. Just did it with a 4x tome in 50min.

After that you grind mats anyways or get the mythical cube and ignore the char. Btw @pickwick_sheep you should probably quest through all maps - that’s kind of fun the first time (ignore the times here, that’s for people that know the game and maps).
If you read guides and stuff: There is no EXP wall. You don’t need to do dungeons. If you see people shouting clear voucher runs on your level join it for free exp. If you rush through without dungeons and missions you need to grind a bit in Almeth and Abbey or Storage that’s it.

And this is supposed to be M M O… Sad to see this kind of development on my former server.

Well it is still multiplayer, to be honest now with clear voucher and leech parties you have more player interaction then with Tree of Solo quests.
It’s just not massive and this is dev fault.

Well I stay on EU but if I wouldn’t want to be on the EU server I would definitely choose SEA server…because they have lower TP prices and I’m poor XD…
