New Player! =3 Tank/DPS Hybrid

Hello all! =] Im new to this game. I have not played it before at all. I usually play tanks in mmorpgs with friends, wich led me to also try a tanking class here. I have read a couple of threads regarding tank builds and how the game does not necessarily needs a full tank build as in warrior itself is tanky. So far i am sure to go:
Swordsman C1 > Peltasta C1> Peltasta C2> Peltasta C3

I know Peltasta C3 is not really required to be extra tanky. But future proofing a bit wont hurt. Also some skills help increase damage.

Now i want to be able to dish out some damage as well (enough to help the party farm a bit faster).
I was thinking of either going Barbarian or Doppelsoeldner afterwards.

Doppelsoeldner I believe has a higher damage output.
But Since im playing with a group of friends(non melee classes)
I thought end goal being a templar to establish a guild in the future.

Now this are my options:

  1. Swordsman C1 > Peltasta C1> Peltasta C2> Peltasta C3>Barbarian C1> Barbarian C2 > Templar C1.

  2. Swordsman C1 > Peltasta C1> Peltasta C2> Peltasta C3> Barbarian C1> Doppelsoeldner C1 > Templar C1.

or dish out guild idea and go…

  1. Swordsman C1 > Peltasta C1> Peltasta C2> Peltasta C3> Barbarian C1> Doppelsoeldner C1 > Doppelsoeldner C2.

I know the most common templar build is with the Cataphract or Hoplite. But im not a fan of spears >.<’

Now like i said before…Im new, I might have messed up the sequence of classes and not make sense =P But im very grateful if im helped with this Any ideas are welcome <3

Try this simulator:

Pelta c3 do not add much … ppl say its a real struggle lvl up a pelt c3, but if you are with friends it wont be a problem.

Have u thought about squire? Its a support/utility class to help out ur mates.

Hey! thanks for replying! Sorry I haven’t been able to check back sooner. Got caught up with lots of stuff at work this week. I used the skill simulator, and after reading a while on forums I came up with these… I apreciate if anyone can come up with pointers or ideas! =D

That Build i guess gives me the highest dps because of highlander c3 and the skull swing armor break. (wich might be the one I go for initially- but unsure if peltesta c1 is enough to tank end game) Then i came up with this one, more tank but lacks armor break…

I think i did an oops on that one and left 5pts on Umbo Blow instead of maxing swash buckling (although it might give me a bit more dps). But since i went full Peltasta C3 I guess id best go with it max swash buckling.

But seems and correct me if im wrong that its more viable to go this route with barbarian than trying to go Tank/Doppel since ill be doing more Aoe damage?

And lastly this is the build im thinking off, if I decide to go templar in the end to establish a guild with my friends. Lvling to Peltasta C3 wont be much of an issue since ill be partying all the time. I would like opinions on this builds and what i could correct from them to maximize damage and still be a useful end game tank.

Thanks for the time and dedication on the forums! =]

1 point in High guard to be able to use its attribute for umbo blow will be a nice add to ur build.

Idk how langort works… need to see it in action to make further comments.

Umbo thrust will be nice against bosses or heavy armored targets.
I personally dont like guard bcz it doesnt add much (35 def w/o upgrade).

So thats what a think about a pelta c2 (my 2cents) with 6 points to decide what to do.

On that second build you have 2 different blocks (cross guard and manual block) but you will need to switch weapons every time you want to use the cross guard (2h only).

barb is nice, 2 aoe stuns, heavy strike damage, can lure 5 targets and has frenzy to fight bosses. Its almost a yolo class.

pelt c2>rode c2> fencer c2 for the best tank
or u could go pelt c3> squire c3 and go full con, for pure tank and support

Thanks both! @VnZzz ll be revising these builds further. Now @Lenny it never ocurred to me to research fencer! Seems like its a high evasion class that helps against magic atks wich seems to be a problem of tanks. Not having anything aginst magic, except slithering from rodelero C2. Is there a build in skill calculator you could share, to have an idea of correct point allocation? Thanks! =3

Hey buddy, I´m going with a similar Peltasta/Barbarian build. Take a look: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/rlvo7qwqxl/

It´s fine until rank 5, I don´t know what to get there, maybe Templar (my guild need one). I´m not going for Doppel.
