New Innovations =?

Hello,

Some of you may have known me from the betas. My IGN was Gun Law in iCbt 1 and Law Gun in iCbt 2. I’m also apart of the Crimson Knights guild. I made this discussion to have place for those who have fresh ideas they would love to put into the minds of IMC. Besides the regular talk of that bug and favortisim of that certain class–how about we speak on what could be put in motion to make the game enjoyable for us while they fix the game’s problem. So, simple enough. Put down your ideas.

I had an idea about the barracks. Now, it could be just your regular ol’ character selection screen, but why not make it more like an actual barracks. What I mean by this is that there should be more interactions and player investment into your own barracks. I don’t mean just decorations and color the barracks whatever color you want, but reward us for making characters. For example, the family system is useless. It’s a name you will be stuck with unless you have the required stuff to change it. If you’re trying to go down the family route, why not make it an actual family?

The Founder is the first character you’ve ever made on your account and gives specific buffs every other day. These buffs could be related to basic stat increases like +5 DEX for that specific day or last an hour when you log in with that character. Now, the other family members go by your regular names: dad, mother, sister, brother, w.e… Of course, this could change and be more creative like the pupil of the first character or something else. The other family members give special buffs besides the regular stats. Item Drop Rate, Exp Rate Increase, Silver Increase(from kills), Speed Increase, and so on. I would like for this to not go by calendar days like The Founder. Instead, you can only get these buffs if you are dedicating some time to the other members by playing with them ,and I don’t mean just log in on those characters and wait for an hour. You will have to level them and spend an hour or so–only then you can interact with The Founder in the barracks. Just like how you can assign your companion, assign who the buff goes to that generates randomly. Also, these buffs aren’t strictly stuck to a dad or a mother in the family, they come from every member, but the buff is random.

The other idea I had for the barracks is new features that could connect us to the world. I know it was beta, but for future barracks, don’t let us walk around and not be able to sit down or mess around with our surroundings. It kills the purpose of being able to move and that goes for the other characters we aren’t moving around. Now, the new features I talked about is more so towards your community and what you’ve done on that character.

We need permanent items such as a calendar on the wall to keep record of the buffs of The Founder, activity of which character you used, and even special dates you marked with specific notes. Another item could be a chest that shows market items you’ve bought by what price and date. A mailbox would be nice to, so you can view items sent to family name from your characters. This could open sharing between characters, but this is up for grabs in case they want to go this route. A school board or something similar would be nice to check the progress of the people on your friend list. Progress such as level, last visited place if they’re offline, PvP matches, ranking, last World Boss killed, and so on. Nice to know how your friends are progressing and they could need support on leveling or whatnot if you keep missing them in-game.

These ideas can go towards the barracks if it’s willing by IMC. It won’t need to be unfair because the amount of characters don’t increase the buff, so those who can’t buy the other rooms are saved from bickering with those with ten characters. Lastly, this is just an idea and I’d like for this to be looked at that can trigger some innovation for IMC to do something new. Sure, let us decorate if you’re gonna let that happen, but bring more to the table. Hopefully, you keep the community in the back of your minds. @GM_Erick @GM_Fuji

IMC should also return the equipment sharing of characters inside the barracks like in granado espada

I have pointed these out in other threads, but I don’t think they reached IMC. So here I am again.

Guild feature suggestions :

  • Able to put a guild logo/guild flag on in-game guild tower/lodge as decorations.
  • Able to make or design or have a guild exclusive costume. Each guild will have different charm on them.
  • Able to customize the design of overall guild tower/lodge, just like our character’s lodge.
  • Able to put furnitures like chairs, thrones, large feast table, guild flag, bookshelf, statues, bed, paintings, treasures, etc inside the guild lodge.
  • Able to make a guild lodge as a tool to access each member’s lodge. It’s like putting guild member chambers inside the lodge and once we enter it, we will be able to visit the other member’s lodge.

GvG suggestions :

  • Mass PvP system or faction wars that use MOBA formula (Capture-defend bases, collect loots, etc)
  • GvG map theme variations. There are volcano map, winter map, forest map, dessert map, etc. Every map will have its own unique terrain & weather effect (winter map will have snowstorm randomly which will affect players movement speed and gives bonus for cryomancer to freeze enemies, etc).
  • GvG leaderboard/ranking. A war without any kind of special achievement/recognition is plain. I expect there will be some kind of leaderboard/ranking for participants. The most damage dealer, most kills, most deads, most loots, etc.
  • Rewards for participating in GvG. Players collect points from the war, turn those points into cool costumes, armbands, hats, equipments, pets, etc.

To me, open world PvP for GvG is not interesting and a bit messed up.

You can just implement a faction war concept (Klaipeda faction & Orsha faction & Fedimia faction), where every guild will apply for certain faction, then all their guild bases/guild towers will be treated as faction’s bases. In order to gain points in GvG, simply capture the guild bases/towers, kill enemies, collect loots, etc. You can also follow Heroes of the Storm example where each war will have different purpose/objectives.

If you are afraid that the place will be laggy, you can implement multiple channels for faction war maps. Each channel will have a cap for the amount of players that can participate.

Besides that, people who don’t join any guild can also participate in faction war as long as they also apply to certain faction. However, they won’t get some rewards that will be available only to the players who join a guild.

+1 or  or  to the OP @GunLaw. I really like the idea of the interactive barracks tbh… right now this “feature” feels so unnecessary or yet even unfinished / maybe they had more things in mind at first but discarded them anyway. (Didnt mention the bigger Barracks just for more characters as it is self explanatory.)

The same goes for the “family name” … I dont really like it… It feels so needless in this game as it is now too.

To @Erokhi’s suggestions: I cant agree more, I love the idea of putting factions against each other (GW1, even BnS uses this feature with 2 factions atm).

Thank you for all the feedback that you have given. It will be forwarded to our dev team.

Thanks.

IMC can make a lot money If they added housing and guild features.
I have also mention this before:
They would make more money if most of the good furniture were only buy able at the cash shop. However, you can still craft some decent furniture and even bosses can drop the mats or the furniture itself. They can create a sand box(New Map) for a village just for the guilds that successfully defend their Guild Tower.Have benefits of extra quests that gives exp cards depending on your level and has a daily or weekly cap so you don’t spam it.Maybe some of them missions gives you certain loot that you can’t get elsewhere. Also be able to unlock houses.valk statue and npc like blacksmiths, class npc’s and vendors that usually towns has, etc. That would make the game more interesting.

ive seen character interaction buffs in Maplestory. its not a new thing but since it was made already it means it not a bad idea. it might be nice to have an alchemist or pardoner set up shop while u play other characters, if u cant already.

the thing to be careful of in making things for cash shop and new features is that it should be possible and free to get for anyone despite it being hard to get. the benefit of paying should be the amount of time and resources u can save by paying cash, and of course it cant be too game breaking. once an item is out of the hands of f2p players, and if it is influential, the entire cash shop and game becomes pointless to play. why play a game where you cant win p2p players?

Btw I forgot to mention this.

I think this game needs a screenshot mode. This is often ignored. @STAFF_J
What’s a screenshot mode? It’s an option to hide user interface completely from your screen as long as the screenshot mode is still on.
What’s the purpose? To take a good, clean screenshot (no user interface) without having to crop it from 3rd party program.

About the details of guild logo/emblem concept :
There’s this game called Emil Chronicle Online. In that game, every guild master is allowed upload their logo by putting it into the game file, then let the game access the file directly to show it in the game.
The size of the emblem is 24x24 pixel, with PNG format so the game can detect transparent logo.
In that game, the emblem will appear at the top of the character’s head.

I agree. The game needs a screenshot mode or a button to hide the user interface completely to avoid having to crop photos, so we can get the whole picture of the scenery and the large amount of people we may have in the photo. This would really help out. Also, the guild logo is strongly needed. Don’t make it a basic symbol that everyone can transform into something else a little bit flashy, but make it available to put in our own emblems to stand out against others. @STAFF_J

Innovations?

  1. A musical class who is a vending based class to sell ‘buffs’ in form of songs, he plays in the public and who paid the money can benefits from the ‘songs’ AoE. The musical class also have a special UI to ‘write’ own sheet! (or even sell the sheets) and he can play violin(string bowing), flute(wind), guitar(string plucking) and drum(percussion)! (or each tree have a hidden musical class, warrior = drummer, archer = fluter, mage = guitarist, cleric = violin) Multiple musicians can also perform orchestra, the instrument sound will reflect in game, and peoples can contribute their ‘appreciation tips’, the more ‘tips’ the better the buff. This will be awesome addition in town interactivity. Also each city/area sell/drop different unique instrument together with their unique sound.
p/s: we will create payon/prontera sheet our own, roar!

  2. Multi-party dungeon, a dungeon where it need 2-4 parties that start of different side of the map, it need synchronization (like party A hv to press button for party B), and certain competitive, the best party (fastest to reach check point) will get better rewards, and they hv to fight multiple bosses at the same time or across their journey. Eg: Assault on Devil’s Castle, the are East/South/West/North gates, each gate has a mini-boss, the team that break the 1st gate will have additional reward, at the same time it also reduce spawn rate of other 3 gates (since they are going to assist the broken gate!), as they proceed the dungeon, they will need to destroy alarm system, energy crystal and etc, and finally they have to fight the final boss.

  3. Random event, a field boss as strong as Baphomet is summoned and will warning all players in the map, once the boss died and players get +50% drop rate in the map for x minutes, or something that need cooperation of players in the map. Something like GW2, but less predictable and no timer reset, or require hidden criteria (since one of selling point of this game is to explore hidden content). Weather/Disaster system, eg: Earthquake is happening on a map n u hv chance to be stunned when monster hit you, or raining will +20% ice element damage / hot sun will +20% fire element damage.

This is a mass scale raid which involves coordination between each party. Feature like this is perfect for a game like ToS that has various classes. Upvoted. :+1:

I got an idea that incentives even more exploration.

While we have many shortcuts already in the map, why no further extend that feature and develop it into something more cool. For example, we could have secret doors that need a special key to open a secret room with rewards in it or it could open a new gateway that leds you into another different instance in the map.

Another exciting idea would be “Wandering Merchants” these merchants only appears at certain time of the day on these secret passages where not to many know about, after certain time these merchants vanish and moves to another random location in the current map or world map, so it will be up to us to “track” his location around the map. This merchant will provide us special items that you couldn’t get from normal NPC’s in town and also you are gonna be able to trade your items for even rare ones, think it as bargaining. Do quests for him and he rewards you even more!

These ideas are pretty good  I would love the idea of a musical or orchestra of players that created their own sheets in town to bring more life into the city and build that natural home feeling that cities need. Also, it would be awesome to have the party split up in certain dungeons to make it interesting with who you are paired up with. Then cooperate to complete small puzzles and probably each pair encounter a mini boss and the other team comes to help after fighting their way to you. It would certainly make dungeons not just rewarding (at times), but very enjoyable and challenging.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will ask our devs to look into this as well.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! @STAFF_J

And if the dev is confused about what kind of GvG modes that I’m talking about. This is the concept that I suggest. Even if the dev team decided not to implement it, maybe they can use it for another game or whatever. I just want to help as much as I can to make this game better.

Examples of different faction war modes :
- Territory Domination
Capture and defend guild towers/faction before the war ends. The faction that has the most amount of captured guild towers will win.

- Treasure Hunter
Collect as many treasures as possible in the battlefield by exploring the map. You can also take down your enemies to get their loots by force. After you collect the treasures, you must deliver them to certain NPC at your base. The faction that has the most amount of treasures will win.

- Monster Hunter
Hunt as many bosses as possible in the battlefield. Bosses will spawn randomly around the battlefield. The faction that has the most boss kill counts before the war ends will win. Players from different faction can kill each other in the middle of bossfight. This system will allow players who focus on PvE to shine.

- Protection
Protect a certain NPC as representative from each faction to a certain spot. Each faction can kill each other’s representative to prevent them from reaching their goal. The faction that delivers more representative to the goal will win the war. If no one succeed to reach the goal when the war ends, the faction that has the least amount of NPC deaths will win the war.

The duration for each war is roughly 1 hour.

You can make this faction war feature as an in-game scheduled event (maybe each Sunday, Friday, Wednesday). On each day, the event will be held 2-3 times so people from different timezones can participate, which allow more players to participate.

When the faction war ends, a new window will appear on the screen. Players can see score for each faction there. Besides that, players can also see the individual statistics which consist of :

  • Top 10 highest kills (highest amount of kills)
  • Top 10 highest total damage (highest damage dealt overall)
  • Top 10 highest single damage (highest damage from 1 hit)
  • Top 10 highest damage taken (highest damage received overall)
  • Top 10 player (highest in overall aspect)
  • etc

All players who participate in the faction war will also receive experience and silvers.
Players from the winning faction will receive more experience and silvers.
Players who appear on top 10 list will receive a mysterious box. You can get potions, or rare armband, or rare costume, or rare hat, or rare equipment, etc. Their names will be displayed in updated global ranking such as in the Adventure Journal.
