the new style looks much better then the old one. Sub forums were a good choice, thanks for making easier to have and keep the overview.

They(the categories/subforums) were already there, and the latest/new page it’s still there as well, they just did a category tab i think

@Cat_Black I feel the same, just bookmark https://forum.treeofsavior.com/latest instead of the home page, and it’s back to normal

I like it but I only wish the “Community” Category was nearer the top since it’s the most used

Expect it to change when the game launches.
You can always change it back to “Latest Post” style if you don’t want to. And IMC could’ve always hold a vote before deciding to change the style. Just my two cents though.
I’m fine with either default section, the style is still the same.
It’s just nice to know that they actually lurk the forums and consider things spouted here. But well, it’s not really unexpected given how much they listen to the (cbt) players’ feedback so far.
Well, basically when the game launches the people here would mostly be on general discussion class ranks quests guilds etc.
What i mean to say, sections related to the game would be more active.

Honestly I’ve never seen a forum system like what’s being used here before, but it’s grown on me quite fast. I’m probably going to stick to browsing the latest section myself, for now anyway - but the choice to use a more traditional layout doesn’t hurt either.
Nice. I mainly use the “latest” view and just my profile with the list of threads I’ve been making/posting in. But I think having categories as the default will make for a better introduction to the forum for new people, and help to get new posters to the info they are looking for and help people to also post in appropriate sections. I think these little bits of making things easier for people to find things and post will become very handy when the forum actually gets flooded with new posters all not knowing how the forum works, all asking similar game questions and not knowing you can actually search through sections of already posted topics, in the weeks after game launch. >_<
And after all, like has been said, you can still use latest view it hasnt been taken away. Its just not default now.

Agreed. I prefer the latest feed.
But I can work with this, I’ll just bookmark latest and use that.
There should be a way to select which feed you’d like to see first, instead of a global default.

Yer. Having your last used layout saved as a cookie or something, so each time you come back it shows your preferred layout would be ideal.

I am sorry but did they change something else than just making the “category” view as default? I think they didnt change anything else.
to all: was it so confusing or unclear to find the category view?
you always can use the latest or the category view, just have to press the button, i mean if its because of “no default anymore” then maybe imc can give us an option for changing the default section
