New class : dark knight

It would be a new class for the swordsman tree with a dark theme, skils that have a cost in hp not in mana and a design similar to a revenant .In the lore, the dark knights could be a group of swordsmen who lost faith in the godesses after medzio diena and surrendered to the dark forces in search of protection and power

Curious :
How would that work with the games lore, story and quests? Those basically depend on the player being on the side of the godesses.

It would require IMC to do 360+ levels worth of additional content just for that class so players can work against the godesses. It would also require dozens of new maps and hundreds of new monsters, since most of the current monsters are demons, so on most maps dark knights wouldn’t have any monsters to fight on current maps.

Also, how are current players (who are on the side of the godesses) supposed to react when encountering a dark knight player, who lore-wise would be an enemy? Lore-wise they wouldn’t be able to play with non-dark knight players since it wouldn’t make sense for dark knights to enter dungeons to slay demon bosses.

that may or may not be true. Lore does have a part of an ancient treaty between goddesses and demons, dark knights might be remnants of that period - a joint collaboration between 2 forces, that are neither good nor evil and just want peace and balance to be restored.

If we were to follow your logic then any summoner class characters would have to be outlawed for summoning demons as well as other practitioners of dark arts.

interesting but, it would better if instead of “lost faith in the godesses” to follow the curret lore, be a class that where created after the discovering that humans godesses and demon already lived togheter in the long past … and now seeking to establish a balance between the races

Suggested that on some other thread, but with the design of the Terror Knights (Tactics Ogre). A heavy Tanky class that also excels in debuffing and delivering nice damage

Please stop suggesting Fantasy Classes. I like the fact that in TOS, with the exception of Bullet Marker, every Class is either based on a historical military unit, profession or has a mythological background.

Dark Knight has no background, it’s a 100% fictional 20th century or 21st century RPG creation.

TOS shouldn’t go downhill.
I wish for TOS to keep its close relationship to culture instead of fiction, especially for Swordsman,Archer and Clerical Class trees.

Only Wizard can stray from that a little as magic is ± a fictive force, and Wizard includes both the dark aspects [i.e. sacrificing/ritualism/idolatry/summoning/drug use and other occultist practices/abilities generally attributed to those who make a pact with demons/spirits and the antichrist] and the psychic powers attributed to people through folklore.

Dark Knight shouldn’t happen, as it would even further derail TOS from its basic concept of being different from all those “high fantasy” MMORPGs already flooding the market.

No, because those still follow the godesses.
The Warlock master even has a line saying something akin to “it is ok to exploit the evil forces if it is used in favor of the godesses”.
So despite using demons or dark magic, Summoners and Warlocks still do it to benefit the godesses and therefore are on the good side, unlike the Dark Knights proposed by OP who’d actually join the evil side (“surrendred to the dark forces in search of power”).
