Need suggestions for my Ice Summoner build!

I’m gonna try to aim for an ice themed summoner this beta! The build I’ve been tinkering with seems pretty standard but I have a few questions! It’d also be pretty awesome if you guys could give me your two cents on the overall build!

Questions:

1. Would it be more beneficial to go Psychokino 1 instead of Linker 1? Being able to hold things in place with psychic pressure seems pretty good, especially with icewall. But I’m not sure if one rank in Cryo+Psycho would be better than being able to link monsters with one rank of Linker. x:

2. OR would it be better to go to Wiz>Cryo1>Cryo2>Cryo3>Sorce1>Sorce2? I’d be getting even more powerful ice spells, but I’d miss out on the DPS potential of Linker and Elementalist skills. x:

3. How good is Summon Familiar and Summon Salamion? I chose to max Summon Servant over those for the SP regen and other buffs, but I’ve always wondered about the other skills.

4. What spells benefit from Summon Servant’s Dark Property boost? Are summons in general considered dark property attacks or does it just affect the Summon Familiar explosion?

5. Does Morph do anything aside from changing aesthetics? What’s the point exactly?

Sorry for TL;DR, but I’d really appreciate any help for my plan this CBT! Thanks so much in advance! :3

  1. Psychic pressure only gets a stun at rank 2 psychokino, stick with linker.

  2. My feel with elementalist is that unless you go all the way it isn’t worth it, because of frost cloud being the best damage and all the spells scaling well past rank 10 (most gain duration). Consider necromancer to be able to have two “giant” summons out and the additional skeletons you could summon, as well the poison turret. Something like Wiz -> cryo 3 -> sorc -> necro. Wiz -> cryo -> psych 2 -> sorc -> necro also works.

  3. Familiar is a neat party buff but Salamion just dies to fast to justify the already limited sorc skill points.

  4. Familiar explosion, wand attacks (once they put in wands). Certain demon type boss cards.

  5. Morph lets you change the appearance (thus the skills used) while still keeping the current stats; you can use your best (most upgraded) summon card and still be able to use different bosses with different aoes via morph. Effectively it makes it so you can viably use a multitude of different boss summons but not have to upgrade all their cards.

For skills; one point in meteor for quick burst, 4 points in curse. Get energy bolt lv 1 and earthquake lv 5 to carry you to cryo rank 1, use those points in lethary to do it - only one point in lethargy is needed to get the attribute. Reflect shield is crap as it does not negate more damage than its reflection value (so 45+spr). Takes up valuable buff slots as well.

Also; careful with ice walls and linker in general, ice walls tend to eat links.

Made a cryo3 build real fast to give you an idea;

My skills choice are pretty simple; Gust is ass so one rank is enough (attribute), ice blasting damage is low since the nerf, the idea of cryo is to focus on cc - Frost pillar, snow rolling, ice pike, ice bolt are the best freezing spells. For necro, skeletons are amazing and will be a huge part of your damage against bosses, corpse tower is nice damage that you can just lay down. Shoggoth is like your sorc summon 2.0. Gather corpse/disinter help you stock up corpses.
For sorc; Riding and morph as utility, ignore command skill (summons tend to do this on their own well enough), max summoning for int to dmg conversion, max servant for pt buffs.

I don’t really like the build, its good for PVE, but not for PVP.

I would rather go with this one:

Oh wow, thanks so much for answering my questions, @Midnightmare! It’s very enlightening, I appreciate the help! I’m gonna start fiddling around with a cryo-necromancer build then when the game is up  I’m interested in psychokino so I might actually try to incorporate that in my revision!

I’ll see if there’s time to make a dedicated cryo-elementalist this CBT so I can get a better feel for the class, I guess my first build WAS spreading a bit too thin! All the wizard classes look so funnnn :c

And thanks too for the suggestion @TankezonE but I don’t PvP.
