hi guys, my wife and i will be playing on the upcoming early access. i will be rolling a barbarian and my wife is still undecided on her class. we are thinking of either cleric>krivis or a support/dps wizard for her. any information on which classes are fun and have good synergy with a barbarian would be greatly appreciated! probably something that is able to solo/duo level and still be a good support would be great if that exists. thanks in advance!
Well, if she wanted to go melee support Monk is always an option. As it has tons of healing potential & a decent array of buffs to provide you both.
If you wanted to go Wizard or range support, I don’t really have much to say on that. As I don’t like to give advice on classes I don’t have experience with.
hey menech! thanks for your reply. that sounds really interesting, never looked at monk too. mind sharing a relevant build if its not too much trouble?
Here you go…
Golden Bell Shield is kind of optional, it might be better to have those points in Palm Strike instead. That gives you the widest range of survivability, healing & damage buffs though.
The idea is to rush to rank 3 Blessing on priest (you only need rank 3) then start spending cash on upgrades to Blessing that can be ranked up 50 times.
Each rank giving you 2 extra damage to a Blessing tick that completely bypasses an enemies defense (meaning you can kill enemies you couldn’t otherwise hurt).
Then put tons of points into Sacrament (another group buff) that will make your Blessing buff tick twice more than doubling it’s damage output.
Basically adding 270 damage each auto attack to yours & hers hits. Again this damage bypasses all defense. It also works with all (or at least most) skills as well.
She’ll have Mass Heal rank 10 & Heal rank 5, which is more than enough to keep you an, a whole group healthy. Also Stoneskin which is incredibility useful for defense.
She would also have the ability to revive you in 2 seconds, no matter the situation. An a self revive if she goes down that gives her 50% heal an she would become invincible for 10 seconds.
Basically she’d be able to enhance your damage output greatly. Have good heal output & be near impossible to kill with the amount of revives of offer.
The great thing about Mass Heal as well is the skill is percentage based. So even if she invests most of her points into Strength & Dex, like a Monk should. Her heals would still be very effective.
Tell your wife to go a wiz with full DPS. NO SUPPORT, I repeat, don’t ever let your wife play support, let her be aggressive.
Since you need someone to cover your butt multiple times, and agressive women are pretty sexy.
p/s: Make her a fencer, that class is fancy as hell
ill show the build to her and see what she thinks. also… maybe she will go full dps, at this point she just says " whatever synergizes well"
with this build, she will be autoattacking only until rank 5 i assume ?
I think the best way for both of you to enjoy the game to fullest is to have the same build. Or else, choose something that suit her personality. But don’t let her go soft xD xD
Yeah, until you unlock Monk skills auto attacking it is. That being said Blessing + Sacrament (leveled up with credits) is really overpowered at the beginning for the game until you unlock Monk anyway.
You can use heal & cure to damage mobs effectively early on. But that will diminish to not being worth it, about halfway towards Monk.
i don’t think shes keen on playing auto attacks too much. thanks again tho! we’re undecided on wiz>pyro>linker/thau or cleric>krivis>druid atm
I’m going to play with a friend and she’ll go wiz-cryo3-chronomancer3. Is a super Fun (in our opinion at least) CC-sup-DPS build, with amazing buffs and simple to play with.
I don’t know about barbarian but I think every swordsman would love quicken and haste buff, also pass (reduces cooldown) and backmasking (that goes back in time and can even be used to revive and allie)
