Need some advice for my swordie path

Hi everyone,

I’m kind of new in the game (lv118) and today I realised that the path I took on my swordsman was pretty lame(I did swordsman C2 > hoplite > cataphract C3 > dragoon)
The problem is swordsman C2, I’m thinking about re-rolling the same path but with peltasta instead of swordsman C2.

But then, I really love the highlander and doppelsoeldner, and I was wondering, after seeing so much high C3 or barbarian C3, if high C2 and barb C2 would work, so I’d get a little bit of the two?

The problem is that without peltasta, if I understand correctly, no one will play with me. I still play with my girlfriend everytime and she needs some protections, it’s hard to chase everything after her.

it depends on what are you trying to achieve with your build
if you want pvp, then cataphract builds are the way to go, (with swordsman c3 imo, but it CAN work with hoplite too.)
if you want pve, then highlander/barbarian builds who go into doppel, corsair or shinobi are the way to go (imo the hoplite dragoon builds are the strongest in pve at the moment)
but with doppel 3 it might change
i dont like the idea that “you must go peltasta for taunt or you are useless to us” if you want to skip peltasta, then skip it, the only reason you take peltasta anyway is that 1 taunt.
now with the doppel 3 and the barbarian buffs its really good to take that path i’d do something like highlander c3 into barb c1 (for the cleave 50% slash damage) and finish off with doppel c3,
now if you still wanna go peltasta, you can also do
peltasta c1 barb c3 into doppel c3 which works really good too in my opinion its all a matter of preference, as long as you pick at least 1 circle of barb in your build for cleave the damage will be about the same. doppel c3 seems really strong.

I’m doing pve only, I’m not interested in the pvp for the moment, so cataphract is bad for pve? I’m now trying pelta C1, hoplite C1, cataphract C3 and finish with dragoon.

If you do highlander c3, you’ll miss frenzy and seism from barb C2, and if you go barb C3, and you’ll miss some important things from the highlander, especially Skyliner and Crosscut… I found this a pretty big loss, that’s why I was think about doing C2 for the two and having a bit of everything, is it a bad idea?

cataphract isnt bad for pve, rush is an amazing dps skill and your build will be great for pve
doppel c3 however is better imo, now you cant have it all, you need to focus on 1 to be strong
you CAN if you want go barb c2 and highlander c2, you imo its not efficient because you will have a lot of average damage skills instead of a max level skill.i suggest you pick 1 and focus on it, but what i do know is that if you decide a highlander c3, take a barb c1 for cleave. you can skip highlander all together if you want, that class is not as strogn as barbarian in my opinion.

cartar stroke is twice as strong as helm chopper, almost twice as strong as seism.
Skyliner with bleed is more damage than every barb skill combined., etc. etc.

going highlander and doppel without at least a barb circle for cleave is really isnt optimal, cartar stroke is a skill with a very long casting time, while helm chopper isnt.
he can do w/e he wants, highlander c3 or barb c3 in any case i think he should get cleave anyway.

Cartar takes .5 seconds to cast or something (cast time getting halved eventually) and does optimal DPS with only 1 skill point. Helm Chopper execution time is over 1 second.

it tkase .5 seconds to cast each level, that means at lvl 15 it’ll take 7.5 seconds.
again, going highlander c3 without a single barb circle is bad.
he can go highlander c3, but not getting barb 1 is plain dumb with the cleave slash buff.

It does the full 4 hits at level 1. Putting more than 1 point in it is something only a retard would do.

you are right my friend, only a retard would want to put it at lvl3 for collision damage attribute, (and the knockback attribute)
smart people leave it at 1 cuz who cares about attributes?
a lvl 1 or 3 cartar stroke falls off anyway.

It only hits once with knockback enabled. Only a retard would do such a thing. Yes.
Level 1 cartar stroke does not fall off. It is 400% atk + bonus, like redel and zucken

as i said before, he can go highlander 3, but going doppel without at least 1 circle into barb, will result in less dps.
i still think that at c3 barbarian is stronger. you get frenzy, warcry, 2 stuns that also deal nice damage and a skill that increase your slash damage by 50% and your crit rate by 50 and does triple damage to stunned enemies.

Yeah, I understand the slash damage is really important for the hurricane that is the doppel, even more with the attributes coming, wasn’t thinking about it. Your opinion looks legit. I’m going to try dragoon but I’ll definitely try this out too. Thanks for your advices!
