Need more people translating on the Github page

If you know Korean it’s great but even just running through all the lines and improving the grammar of whatever’s already there helps quite a bit. Native English speakers are necessary for this kind of editing, as it’s often hard for non-native speakers to know what sounds natural. There’s some lag when editing the bigger files but for now it’s all we have and it would be nice to get as much of it done as possible.

If you have problems with some of the translations make sure to note the lines (in your pull request) you passed so others can look over them.

Thanks all.

Hmm, I can at least try to correct grammar. The GitHub interface seems a little scary to me though…lol.

Is there a file in particular that has higher priority and is really in need of editing or can I just choose whatever?

How can i join the translation group? i really want to help u guys

this should speed up ToS release XD we need more korean speaking people for translations >_<"

Sign up for GitHub and click on any of the English files (currently the English files are _en, but they’re switching them around so the Korean files are _kr and the English files don’t have an extension). To edit, there’s a button that looks like a pencil in the top right of the window (between the trash can and monitor icons). Clicking that will allow you to edit the file, then you have to submit a pull request, which will then be merged manually by imcGames into the master file. All your changes are visible after you submit your pull request so others might give you suggestions or edit your edits, which only you can change, so you should check up on your request later to see if anyone’s made any further suggestions.

Note that the bigger files (Item_en, for example) are laggy on GitHub because the files are so big, so feel free to edit the smaller files to save yourself frustration. I’ve personally edited most of Item_en myself so it shouldn’t need much more work anyway.

Cheers!

I’m happy to help! I don’t speak Korean, but I am a native English speaker. I have begun to help with the editing of the Git repository.

I’m happy to help correct the grammar!
But unfortunately I don’t speak Korean. I’ll do everything I can to help release the game as soon as possible c:

I am currently contributing by correcting grammar. Wish I could understand korean… huh… Atleast there is something I can do for the game.

I tried it out, but I felt nervous improving the grammar of the texts since I wasn’t aware what contexts they were used in. It’ll be a whole lot easier to translate once we can actually play the game in beta.

If GitHub is scary, this is way more easier to understand:

Mm…the only reason I won’t use that is because I’m not even sure if I would be credited for my contributions. I’d rather try to spend hours trying to learn how GitHub works than use that.

@Kiyoshiro : the tool you can see which part got translated by which person as people can also suggest a fix for a line.

when we are going to commit the stuff to imcGames there will be a credit list which shows everyone who supported the project with translating lines via our web translator. but showing which person translated how much stuff or which line, is not how a collaboration project works. the target is to reach something together as one community.

we created this tool as there are many people out there who have problems with git but wanna help translating the client. our tool is for removing this barricade between these people and the translation project of imcGames.

Kind regards

@Gardosen Would it be possible to highlight rows of the translation list where a translation has already been suggested?

I find that I suggest a translation, then click on the same item because I notice the error again

that is a nice idea, as this is a beta, we are thankful for those suggestions

we will check to improve this as soon as possible.
if you have anything else which is unhandy, just tell us
as more people give us feedback about the usability, as better we can improve it

Kind regards
Gardosen

@Gardosen Also a way to delete our suggestions would be good too. Means we can delete suggestions if we clicked submit too early or made a typo. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this!

Thank you very much.

If only i could help T_T

I have to learn Korean!

I am so confused haha. I made a small adjustment to one of the files, but I don’t know if it was pulled or not

You need to submit a “Pull Request”, which IMC then sees and puts into the main file if they accept your changes. Since they’re in S. Korea, this usually happens at night if you’re in the Americas.
